cobra IMO

it looks like something from the shark/ray family to me...like the pale underside of some kind of ray(not that it is), and is that Millburn that is like "awe, hey there little guy...dont be scared...I dont bite", and the cobra thing is like "too bad...I do", CHOMP-SLITHER-SCREAM-SMOKE-MELT-YEAH!

The SPEED of it is just nothing that we've seen since ALIEN's Facehugger...just GREAT! did the preview for ALIEN have one shot of the facehugger breaking out of the egg in at least one of the trailers?

lol.... Yeah the crew are stupid, i mean the Orginal Space Truckers in Alien had more brains.... You dont go and try and touch a unkown species, you dont know what they could be. you could be like picking up a a US Brown Snake (Storeria dekayi) which are harmless. Or a Australian Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis) which are Deadly. Mind you it seems the crew go to the temple more than once inspite of what they find down there.

It looks more like a facehugger with no finger/legs. Look at it, it's even got places to root the legs to, they're just not there.

Good thinking! I always thought there was a relationship between the facehuggers and the Space Jockey mask. Of course the only thing in the way of this idea were the enormous fingers. So remove the fingers and you have your breathing apparatus. Just make sure to secure your own mask before helping others seated next to you.

i think he is the Serpent that delivers the Eitr from Norse Mythology. Eitr is supposed to be creator of all life. its a substance that comes from a serpent snake. kind of like our buddy here. i believe that this is one of alot of mythologys the writers have thrown in that touch on our existance. i think it is a biomass that evolves on living cells into what it evolves on. takes its trades etcetera. just a theory but the black substance could be the beginning of all. so the snake creates the black oil or other way around, snake goes in host. evolves into what we maybe know later as xenomorph or space jockey engineer. could be be our very existance. although i tend to think its the creation of the aliens and they created us.
