in this first image ..we see that the hangar open in the direction of the temple ..and that the temple is surrounded by hills ... in this image ..we see the vehicles (same number ) returning from the expedition ..the hangar is opened in their direction ..they have the temple behind them and in this last image we see Noomi watching in the direction of the temple ... with the hangar behind her ..note that they are parking the vehicles ... she is outside to pick up a bag ... and that before she is hit by the sand storm so ..1) the sand storm cannot be natural ...it cant pass over the hills and hit with that power ... 2) the storm arrives exactly from the temple direction ...so its generated by something ( an explosion maybe ? ) inside the temple or by the temple itself 3) noomi is not thrown in the hangar but she pass near the ship SO she is pushed by the storm ..not attracted by it even if its strange that she miss the hangar

maybe if someone can get a close up on the ships landing gear from the HD trailer, then we can compare it to the image of Shaw being back by the sandstorm.

I asked because I have the feeling Shaw is blown inbetween the landing gear and the bow of the ship...

Heres and idea, can some one post the image I've just posted, the image BM has just posted (maybe zoomed in more) and the image of the landing gear prop.

got something else to add here, more food for thought if you will... In Shadow 19 - A script by Jon Spiths you can download here... Shadow19 Apparently this script was bought by Warner Brothers a few years back with the intention of producing it with Keanu Reeves. However, the project never went ahead and instead Reeves worked with Jon Spaihts on a sci-fi romance named Passengers. It was around this time Ridley Scott also discovered Spaihts and the two started work on the Alien prequel, which later transformed into the film now titled Prometheus. We're introduced to an enormous terraforming spacecraft which lands on an uninhabitable planet and spits out six smaller mobile units called Crawlers. Each of these Crawlers then spread across the planet and sow seeds which then terraform the planet. And the name of this terraforming spaceship is... Prometheus. Does this seem like a coincidence? Is Prometheus a terraforming spacecraft?

@Snorkelbottom Here you go: Can I just ask also...how big is the ship?!?!?! It looks to be bloody massive from these photos! Haha (not in a negative way)

Okay Comparison time people... (ignore the scaffolding) Same location? Might be easier if we can get an underside image of the ship in flight.

Gentlemen; I forward your attention to my crudely composed infantile drawing: I believe Shaw will get blow backwards between the green markers.

If you look at the this image... It looks as though their are four of these per engine (which are swivelled and used as thrusters to land)... Thus I think we have confirmed that this... Is showing Shaw being blown between the landing gear and the bow of the ship to the right hand side.

Look a little above the "L" in the image of the ship in flight and you can see the underside of the landing strut, from their layout it seems as though their are 4 of these per engine.

@Biomechanic I got it here.. luckily I save all of my sites on "Prometheus"! http://movies.about.com/od/theroncharlize/a/Charlize-Theron-Damon-Lindelof-Prometheus.htm This explosion could also be what Captain Janek is freaking out about! @Spartacus nice find on the script! SO THIS IS IT!!!!! THE CREW HAD A ONE WAY TICKET! FOUND PROMETHEUS AND UTILIZED IT TO BUILD ANOTHER PLANET FOR THEM TO LIVE ON! AND SOMEONE WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT!

Spot on BM, the Prometheus is a four engined Osprey. Also if you look between the front and rear engine there is a connectin arm which I reckon will straighten upon descent.

Is Prometheus a terraforming spacecraft? There was more than likely an explosion on the planet at a terraforming refinery or some structure like that I am thinking, even a Pyramid, say the one where the Ampule Chamber might be!!!

@Spartacus, Did you read the Shadow 19 script all the way? This could explain why sometimes they have there space helmets on and sometimes they do not.. If they are casting their shadows on other planets..

In fact on that image you have just posted BM you can see the landing struts clearer, seperated by a light grey/white panel...

yes i had always that idea about the engines ...and that make me think that there arent a bigger ship and a smaller one .. ( of course there can be another ship ... same mission or another mission)

It does look like a mighty big ship doesn't it. What if it is towing something bigger like the Nostromo did. But instead of a refinery its a greenhouse of sorts that generates all their oxygen and a percentage of their food (a la Sunshine).

...But, we see similar pieces as wreckage during the "derelict crashing" scene at the end of the trailer, which suggest that this ship impacts with the Derelict... So how do Shaw and Vickers get home?

Well I plowed through the script.. and it's radical! Very radical! Anyway that picture of the temple outside of the cargo bay... looks like it is being "hugged" by a Derelict style ship..

@Biomechanic, Well, I guess finding that the ship is called Megellan, we are essentially using the process of elimination. We have the shadow-19 script and it states that prometheus is a ship that teraforms. Now, we have a temple, and Lindelof stating that Prometheus is a god.. Then we have Ridley Scott saying this is about faith/Gods/"Chariots of the Gods".. so what am I proposing? That Prometheus is a individual or a space craft that gives us the power to teraform.. Lindelof and Ridley have already said "what happens, if we use this power without permission"... And the term "Prometheus" really just states the obvious.. Someone said that the explosion uncovers more stuff for us.. I bet this is the case as well..

Maybe the "Explosion" is the act of terraforming itself. The cloud of dust that approches the Megellan, has all of these little rocks in them.. or "seeds" maybe.. These seeds also look like flies going crazy, or maybe they are alien insects that pollinate the planet. They can also be seen with Shaw is swept away. Anyway these seeds terraform.. It seems highly unlikely that the teraforming is done by an explosion though..

@Biomechanic, I think you are right.. something like that happened, that is why Shaw and Vickers are outside of the craft. They were either trying to get in, to help someone that was inside, or they were inside and they were running away..

my take is they leave in ... 2+2+5/6 they return ( for the night or for some injuried ) ..but they leave someone behind to study better ( red laser scene ) Red laser scene >>>>> BOOOM something happenn ( there are rafe spall and Mohawk in that scene ..both end bad ) the BOOM ( whatever its ) invest the magellan >>>> shaw fly

@Biomechanic, Those nostrils are called "Vaginal Entrances", Giger calls them that. This is why I think Prometheus is that ship.. the ship is alive and being run by Oscar "The Big Head". BTW in addition the 3 vaginal entrances.. the ship also has several "Prongs" that look like they can fit into the vaginal entrances. I counted 2, there could be 3...

I always thought that the film would be called Prometheus because the humans steal the terraforming technology from the SJs or whoever. This is the technology that is eventually used by WY to terraform LV426 etc.

What if the name of the operation is "Prometheus"...thus making the name of the ship "Magellan"...sounds more logical. Just a thought....

".. she is outside to pick up a bag .." There is something about that scene with the storm chasing the crew back to the ship that srtill does not seem right. They are racing back trying to beat the storm with the 'head bag'(I always assumed it was Shaw holding the bag) somehow during the end of the journey, near the entrance to the loading dock the bag somehow falls off/out of Shaw's lap/seat at the slowest part of the journey. Co-incidence that the most valuable relic of the find, an alien species/Engineer that she could only imagine finding a few years ago happens to fall on the moon's surface and could be lost in a storm that is sort of in-your-face.? The only answer might be that Shaw was overwhelmed by the responsibility she had to investigate this Engineer's head....or she was afraid that they were not gods and would cause her to lose faith in what her beliefs. She would then be responsible for the failure of the Prometheus mission. Maybe this is of no importance in the overall movie, but it was a surprising event at a critical time.
