I thought you might get a kick out of this quasi movie poster/illustration I did back in 1986.

I painted it pre-movie release, based on a couple photos from the then popular sci fi magazine “Starlog”…and a freeze frame from the original ALIEN film. It was one of my first attempts at airbrushing…I did get better. At that point, I thought that 'Hicks' was going to be a more pivotal role/character. I was soooo excited about that sequel…I can still feel it! Hope you like the piece.

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/3/2012Hey thanks Ruhaniya!
Actually, I don't have a DeviantArt site. You know...old dog...new trix...? I haven't actually picked up so much as pencil to draw, in a couple of years. But I have been writing like crazyman...a man possessed. I seem to find that the blank page has less borders than the canvas...limitless...and less expensive. In fact, I've just finished a 140 page screenplay, set in the early 70s...lots of sex, drugs, rock and roll...and "redrum." Probably right up your alley...HA! I'll likely chop it down closer to 120 pages (120 min.) to keep it moving along. I know every man jack in our solar system thinks he's a screenwriter...but what the hell...we'll see what happens...
End of line.

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/3/2012Dear Neurion, I also like shotguns...your not a old dog but a man possessed? Well, I might be able to help with 99 fried coffee beans in olive oil and a bunch of chanting and stuff. 70's eh, Sex,drugs and rock N rolling is it also part historically accurate? I don't drink rum especially the red kind. I was made in Hong Kong in the 70's when the British ruled there but I am glad you picked up that I am mad man. I often think of that line in Blade Runner"I've seen things you people.." but I say instead "I've seen shit you people wouldn't believe". Well good luck with your creative endeavours! I hope you make da money. I got special magic for that too. I just can't use it on myself. I have been thinking a lot about those 9 skiers from Russia know as the mystery of Dyatlov Pass. That would make aye great movie. Perhaps I too will put down the pencil and get writing. I have a great Idea for another type of alien movie, that is similar to Alien but it's a different kind of creature and it doesn't kill you but you might wish it had. I was kind of inspired by it from read blurps and not so blurps in this place.
Most sincerely, Ruhs of the Zengoes Rediculom

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/4/2012Hey Ruh,
When I wrote “Redrum”…I meant “murder”…as in THE SHINING. Anyways, it’s a fictional story that takes place in the L.A./Laurel Canyon rock and roll scene…as I grew up around some of that stuff when I was a kid. So, all of the characters are fictional, but I think that setting that I’ve written is pretty historically accurate and authentic regarding ’73 and ’74...Raunchy…very raunchy. Nobody really uses that word anymore...huh? Except for me…I like it.
Keep on truckin’!

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/4/2012P.S. Ruh, I think that the mystery of Dyatlov Pass could make a pretty badass film...if handled right. Especially in regard to the radioactive corpses found... as I begin whistling the X FILES theme...Oooooooh Scary cool...

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/4/2012Yes Neurion,
Raunchy is used still today it just doesn't have the same vulgar meaning as it used to. Isn't it a brand of unwashed underwears? I think your on to something there man! Oh I know what ya meant about the the "Redrum"' but I still don't drink it... I'd sooner suck on the devils bong! Just can't wait to get on that highway! Hey how about a version of Dyatlov Pass with a bunch of truckers that get blasted by some aliens cause they pissed them off with their Redneck ways? I think it would be interesting to see what would happen if they started shooting their shotguns while totally recked on BUD at some UFO's with death rays from hell? BBQ anyone for Salty and sweet you are what you eat, pulled rotisserie!

MemberOvomorph01/7/2012Neurion did I miss something Or is there a way to read the 140 page of stuff/screenplay you wrote? I would very much like to read it

Veteran MemberMemberOvomorph01/7/2012Hi Spartacus,
How cool of you to ask. I’m actually addressing a few last edits, based on a few proof reader’s critiques. Then it’s off to the WGA for registration…then copyrighting. Shouldn’t be too much longer, but I have to take the proper steps for artistic protection and proprietary rights. Hollywood sharks! However, as soon as it’s covered…I would more than happy share it with you, and hear or read your critique. Especially, since you were a teenager at that exact time. I was only 6 or 7 years old. I’ll keep you posted bro. Thank you again for your interest.
As far as the Parker scene…I did watch the scene again on my computer…but I’ll have to recheck it on my television and stereo with better speakers. I can see what you mean…very subtle though…his lean to his left…almost imperceptible…but you saw it.
So, I’m gonna have to hold off on my personal opinion…until I watch it again soon with proper audio/video.
Peace out,
~N
