Game Over Man!
MemberOvomorph01/8/2012I have been roaming this board for awhile reading various posts. I remember the discussion of the SJ being a fixture to the direlect ship. This has to be false doesn't it? I mean if the SJ was attacked and done in by a facehugger then there would have been evidence of that on his bio-mask, correct? Also another thread discussed that in the SOS/Warning beacon you could supposedly hear a facehugger attack toward the end of the recording. From my question above that would have to be false as well. This leads me to believe the SJ had the free will to unfuse his suit to the seat. Also with no acidic penetration remnants on the Bio-mask of the SJ, means that at some point before he took his "final" seat he was attacked without the bio-suit on. Thoughts?

MemberOvomorph01/8/2012I said that earlier in my reply to Humans created specifically to be later bred with the Aliens. Although I have to keep to myself something that I suspect about that situation, it's just a bit too controversial.

MemberOvomorph01/8/2012I went back and seen your remark. That is an interesting theory. The way the SJ is sitting and the posture it is in makes it seem like it was something that happened spontaneously and unnanounced. In the Alien movies it seems that when the facehugger attacks it leaves the victims with some kind of memory loss as they dont remember what happened. In the theory you describe where the SJ was female and impregnated voluntarily or involuntarily you would think the SJ would know what was about to happen. If that was the case I would think the last thing the SJ would be doing is piloting an important ship with dangerous cargo aboard on somewhat of a meaningful mission?

MemberOvomorph01/9/2012Fascinating questions many have thought but with nothing known about what call the SJ/Pilot. We see what appears to be a star chart room, are absolutely sure that this is indeed where it is navigated? What's throwing me off is the fact that the alien ship in the teaser looks more mechanical than the original seen in ALIEN. I'm of the thought the ship itself is a bio-mech life form, but not so much after seeing the new vessel. Was the SJ fate mission a suicide bomber mission gone awry?

MemberOvomorph01/9/2012Let's just say, if the person in the seat wasn't familiar with what the engineering nanites were doing to their body, the infection/pregnancy would not be noticed until it was too late. I didn't say that the pilot was a natural born SJ. The ship's been on Archeron for a very long time, but that doesn't mean that the pilot in all actuallity was indigenous to the SHIPS origin world.

MemberTrilobite01/9/2012I was the one who posted that what sounds like the whipping sound of a Facehugger attacking can be heard during the playback of the signal the Nostromo plays back. Whether it is or not I would suggest listening to that signal before refuting the possibility off hand. It can be heard on the 2003 directors cut on DVD

MemberOvomorph01/9/2012@Snorkelbottom ~ I wasn't refuting what you said as false. I am saying if indeed the SJ was attacked by a facehugger and it was caught on the recording, then it did not come from the current seat the SJ is sitting in. The recording would have had to happen earlier while the SJ did not have its Bio-suit on. Correct?

MemberTrilobite01/9/2012So if the space jockey makes the recording, and during the recording gets attacked, and thus incapacitated, I assume they entered the seat/suit after this. Why would they do that?

Game Over Man!
MemberOvomorph01/9/2012Good question...thats why I asked. :) The transmission that was recorded came from that ship at sometime before the SJ got to the pilot chair. Assuming what we hear was a facehugger attack in the recording. Also after being embryoed how long does it take before bursting out of the chest. Seems from movie to movie that time differs. So for all we know after being attacked the SJ piloted the ship for another couple days. Now here is where you and another poster argued over the beacon being an SOS or a Warning. Like I said the SJ was attacked prior to taking the pilots seat and must have had his/her bio-suit off as well. And back to what i was saying regarding piloting the ship for at least a couple more days after the hugger attack. This leads me to believe the SJ sent an SOS out to lure beings to the craft to suffer his same fate. If the SJ would have had any compassion knowing his own fate, he would have found a way to crash the direlect ship to be sure no other being suffered the same feat as him. What do you think?
