About the space jockey...

So, the last 8 minutes of Prometheus will tie into Alien. Why title this movie Prometheus, the name of a lesser Greek god who aided humans by giving them fire behind the backs of the gods who didn't want us to have it? Prometheus was punished by the gods by being chained to a rock and having his liver pecked out by an eagle, over and over. When I look at Alien and the Prometheus trailer, the character that reminds me of Prometheus is...the jockey, who has a hole in his right chest area, the same area where the human liver is located. Of course the ship from earth is called Prometheus, but does that fit with the Greek legend of one of the lesser gods having the name Prometheus?
