Ridley Scotts idea of the Ancient Astronaut Theory

Scott mentioned that the script is partly influenced by this theory and he seems like a fan of some sort, like Roland Emmerich is, too. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alejandro-rojas/ridley-scotts-new-alien-m_b_1124808.html I did read some of these books like Erich von Däniken or Sitchin, but was a bit dissapointed, when I read that, because when you study this you will know its just bogus. Däniken and Sitchin do this for money reasons and KNOW, these ´theories´ are not true. Däniken was a broke and fraudulent hotelier in ´69 and was in jail for that. Then he made up this highly speculative books with a allegedley ´archeological´background, just to get off his debts. Whatever, in Emmerichs original Stargate theres this AAT reference, too, the origins of the pyramid builders etc. I just hope Scott dont fuck it up and he made his own , better version..;)

While I always thought the whole "Ancient Astronaut" thing is cool, it is TOTALLY bullsh!t. There's just WAY TOO MUCH evidence against it.

it is bullshit we have jumbo jets, supercomputers icbms fitted with nuclear bombs spaceshuttles, and genetically engineered crops, and these hustlers that are barely archaelogists are like how did early humans move these boulders!!!! must have been ufos1!11 fuckin spindoctors . making history a mystery. great now in 2000 years we wont understand how humans today could possibly make microchips..clearly that was the work of boogey men!

Apart from the real-time tracker map at the beginning - which is obviously horse manure - I found everything else to be - dare I say it - plausible, so I actually quite liked Stargate.

Sir Ridley has only made 2 previous science fiction films - and both are in the top 5 all-time great science fiction films, which is of course just my opinion, but I'd gladly challenge anybody to name 5 better sci-fi films than Alien and Bladerunner. Given that, Prometheus will be epic in scale and tale.

´´must have been ufos´´ see, thats the prob. , supercomputers, atomic bombs, biotech etc are all proveable human made. when coming to ancient giant building sites like the pyramids, which are the main ´argument´ for AAT´s , they say, ´we didnt build them, must have been that aliens´. - wrong, egyptians build them, the porpose and exact technices are still there for reasonable archeology. AAT is kind of Sci-Fi based superstition, they are not interested in archeology at all, just in speculation. - UFO´s is completeley unproven, its just an excuse. ( maybe ufos cant build anything. Ufos are no argument whatsoever) Of course, the main idea of Stargate was nice, more interesting than the Star Treck universe ;) anyone who is interested in the great pyramid, this made my year 2011, reading about the great pyramid beeing a giantic water pump, great: http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/piramides/esp_piramide_11a.htm But I´m sure Sir Scott will make a nice piece, a master piece again.
