alien head/ figurine question

The whole purpose of it's head is to look like a giant penis. It's true. They even put a tube though the middle of it. The side-on view of the torso is a penis as well. The alien is basically just one big penis.

eGay? what the hell is that lol? have you made a typing error? If your looking for a very small but detailed Alien model-thing then get the mini Konami ones. I have the original Alien from that Konami min-series of models and you can actually take the dome casing of the xeno's head off and look at the skull underneath.

As for the head being so impractically large, maybe its because it needs it to be that big for it's rather clever brain. I wouldn't look into the shape of it's head being too impractical, like you said its art it doesnt particularly matter. But that's just imo.

I concur to that lol. Yeh Ebay can be gay, I find it quite funny to see the prices of Alien products shooting up due to the Prometheus hype. Type in space jockey on ebay and I dont think a single product is below around $50 or roughly £30

The fact that it is deadly, its fine senses, the life-cycle, acid blood, claws do not depend on Giger's design, all those aspects were already there to some extent before they knew how the monster would look like, so it was just a matter of fitting some aspects in hindsight. And in hindsight, the most common explanation for the elongated head I have read is that, apart from sensing (the dome might be used as a movement sensor, just like sperm whales, allegedly) it has to do with the inner jaw, and the need for powerful muscles to give it the necessary thrust and possibly balance the momentum of its action.

Oh how we laughed when the seller/auction they'd all been slagging off turned out to be a member of the forum....and then we had to try and sort the resulting mess out. In the end we had to set up a 'members only' subforum for those posts to keep it out of the public domain. eGay can be a minefield for mods, on certain kinds of forums anyway.
