MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Seeing as we've been told in interviews by Ridley himself that this film is about engineers of space and planets, god like beings etc. Well it's got me thinking. . . In some ancient writings on Earth, it's written that humans (children of the gods) eventually got fed up with how the God's treated them and stuff. Anyone else think the basis of this film is the same, only SJ are the gods and xenomorphs are their creations that turn on them?? Sorry if it's been mentioned before!

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Due to the Sumerian writings in Prometheus, it is looking like the Engineers are the Sumerian Gods that created man as slaves until the humans got too uppity and left.
It makes me think.
Maybe the xenomorphs were specially created to wipe the human race out, the face huggers fit well with our head, and we would not have been able to fight the xenomorphs as we would have just had sticks and stones back then. They seem adapted to our environment and has blood that is extremely corrosive to us.
The Engineers needed to clear out the humans to start afresh, so they packed a bomber with these eggs to drop onto earth and sent it to earth. The bomber crashes on the moon in Alien due to impregnation of pilot and crew by xenomorphs, human race survives. It would be ironic that the things that were made to kills us off, saved us.

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Hmmm perhaps! Just interesting as this film looks like it's the first since I can remember, that will deal with the very creation of everything. I can't wait to see it! Also, I believe that the SJ will ultimately not be as evil as we're lead to believe. . .

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012LOL. With everyone giving their ideas and plots, myself included, when I get in that theater and sit down, everything is out the window. I will purely watch with a open mind and antisipation. Cant wait! I love it!

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Good call bigbirdjimmy. I am curious, though. Will whoever makes the most correct predictions about Prometheus win? And what do they win?

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Vegas should start taking bets on crucial plot points. Each theater will then have an announcer calling the play-by-play like a horse race. Cue nail biting and hair pulling, bet winners whooping with joy, the losers sinking into the theater seats with heads in hand.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012I'm betting that the SJ (or mutated human) seen in the original Alien - having become inpregnated him/herself - actaully crashed the derelict ship there on purpose to keep it from reaching it's intended destination (earth?)

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012Lol @bigbirdjimmy. I'd love to direct AvP 3. We've had the Pred-alien but wait till you see the ET-alien or the ALF-alien.
@Lyle, in my opinion, Ridley will not be borrowing existing ancient art and literature, but creating a new history, for instance, it's a new dig in Africa where they discover the Gods.

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012I have a feeling our predictions are going to be so off we'll be saying
"I was wrong, I was so wrong. I'm so sorry"

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012@Starbeast LOL. Sounds like the dig in AvP. Maybe thats what you were hinting towards

MemberOvomorph01/18/2012basically slaves revolted against the pharoes, then again in rome against the emperors , then again in france against the kings etc etc....these rulers deemed themselves as gods with divine rights etc etc..thats the actual history that scott is going to science fictionalize
but anyways the rulers would tell their slaves...you must serve us because we are great and come from the sky..and you are low and come from the ground...this type of propaganda was to make them think that they are born to serve their masters that are somehow fundamentally better than them
just how would humans rebel succesfully against beings that can create planets

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Maybe the space jockeys are the slaves, and the gods are something we haven't seen yet (whoever's in the giant disk-shaped thing in the waterfall scene? The giant head / idol/whatever it is?) The clean symmetrical disk shape over the watefall and the totally asymmetrical shape of the derelicts are at totally opposite ends of the spectrum, doesn't seem like the same technology was used to build both.

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Maybe the Gods seeds the planets, humans evolved to serve Gods, humans become self-aware and difficult to manage. So the Gods say: "Ah, fuck it, I'm going home!"

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 7:27 AMWhen humans revolted, the Annunaki unleashed a catastrophe (the bible refers it as "the Great flood"). Fortunately for us, our species survived. Before they left, watchers were left behind to rule. These being procreated with humans and a new species was born. The Pharaohs of Egypt believed (and the people as well) that they were descendants of that species. When Egypt fell, the royals fled to Europe (Roman royal family), when that empire fell, they fled north. We know them now as the British monarchy, who still believe they hold the DNA of God (E.T.) and have the supreme right to rule over us and treat us as cattle. They know, and wish to keep that from us. They have control over energy, oil, money, the entertainment industry, governments, and are trying to implement a "New World Order" where they will hope to redeem their iron fist power. Suppressing technology including "free energy" & Quantum Physics, and space travel. They don't wish for us to leave this planet, they have their own comfortable bubble. Masquerading as Governments "serving" us.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 1:55 PMAll wrong. This will have a typical Ridley Scott irony in it. We and the Engineers are the same. We try to gain the secrets of life and creation and either wind up screwing it up and thereby creating the Xenomorphs or we are caught in the act of stealing the bio-mechansim, worm-like creature, that creates life and are punished for it.
The metaphor comes into play as the eternal suffering of mankind for their act of betrayal. We humans are probably destroyed and recreated through the eons. That is the punishment - to be annihilated as a species and then resurrected to undergo this cycle in perpetuity.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 1:56 PMAlso, the derelict ship from the original Alien is the one in this movie.

MemberOvomorphApr-19-2012 1:56 PMDavid plays a very large role in this story, especially with his comment about big things having small beginnings. Ominous and foreboding.
