MemberOvomorph01/19/2012It was announced on the Prometheus Twitter Page that private screening of the film would have a G RATING - General Audience! And said its a bit light for a "scary Sci Fi Masterpiece!!!"

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Sounds like a misunderstanding to me.. even the teaser trailer wasn't G-rated.

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Also bear in mind that that Twitter feed is a fan-site, not the official feed. The more I think about it, the more someone's clearly talking out of their ass.

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Ha ha you could be right man. It just seemed from someone official from the Twitter site and not a fan. But you wouldn't know. Lot of wrong info going about.

MemberOvomorph01/19/2012Wouldn't be so quick to call it a hoax. The test screening is being promoted as having a "G" rating. Unless it is an error, it looks pretty authentic. Even the site that hosts these test screening schedules had it up then removed the listing today.

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012Oh no.......oh dear, first the Space Jockey "suit" concept, now the Walt Disney G rating. You got to be fucking kidding me right? Has Scott done a Lucas and fucked up a backstroy rich with so much opportunity? If this film wimps out I am a dead man, the amount of positive PR I have been feeding at home and work...people are sick of me plugging it. Worrying times for prometheus I think.....

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012it's confirmed. this will be his 2001. so glad he didn't compromise his artistic vision to appease the morons who should probably go back to watching freddie krueger movies.
but on the flipside, it might be an excised footage lacking spoilerish surprises.

U better be right on that one walter!
Oh gawd!.....no man this simply cannot be right.....at least a f*cking pg 13 rating....this is what we get for complaining about the rating!....Fox and Ridley is just screwing with us...u know the higher the movie production budget the lower the rating I suppose.....but I refuse to believe it will get a "g" in the end!
I am gonna phone up my old bud Ripley and have a nice little discussion with him...gonna give it to him straight...."listen bitch!!.....we spoke about this....wtf is up with this G crap"....lol

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012So when beardo jumps off the roof of the transport, he pulls out a tea set and discusses his feelings with the other gent rather than try to kill him?

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012If this movie isn't a 15rating at least, I'm not seeing it. End of! I'm expecting a horror epic, something similar to Alien but on a grander scale.

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012Yuo know what Lyle, I totally agree with you. If it is not at least 15 there is no way i am watching it , or certainly not putting it on my priority of movies to watch. This movie comes out a day before my birthday. Me and loads of people have already agreed that we will make a night of it as they are huge alien fans themselves. We will go for a meal then a few drinks and go to the cinema and watch it, but if i find out it is PG for example, there is no way i am going to go with all my friends in their late twenties to watch some George Lucas style crap. I dont doubt it would be good and explain many things but it is like being told you are getting a Ferrari and then in reality you get a bloody Ford Escort. It is not what would be advertised. The trailer shows intensity, violence, horror, suspense, blood, action etc.... if it is changed to a PG then that is false advertisement. I will not sit in a cinema with a bunch of tweenies who dont have even a clue what the whole Alien universe is about. All they bloody know is AVP. Anyway i made my point. Sounds drastic but i am serious... 15 rating or more equeals great, anything less trust me people just give up and follow another movie.... this is not treason lol just damn honesty and i know that most of you will agree.

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012We will all see it Lyle....regardless of the rating.....much as u hate to admit it.....but I am also prying for an "R".....a big fat fucking "R"

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012....that goes for u as well apollo.....but trust me i know where u coming from!

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012@ Gehirn, thats funny. If they rate this movie G or PG12 then you are telling me that this movie is on the same scale as movies like Toy Story, The Incredibles, Bruno, Planet 51, Monsters Inc etc... you get my point then Prometheus ?????????????? WTF One day i will sit with my daughter when she has kids and she will say "Dad you wanna come with me and the kids to see Prometheus 4 return of the Jelly Bellys", hang on "What?", " i remember Alien and shit with things coming out of chest, and heads bitten, and too much blood and now there is Frigging this crap"....."count me out hun i am just going to sit here and watch some real shit lol". Can you imagine, might seem far fetched but you know what i mean.
P.S I dont have a clue what a Jelly Belly is just made it up, maybe a fat person lol

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012This is just the rating for the test screening guys. No need to get all crazy over this. They regularly test screen films for General Audiences.

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012Things like this worry me @Mindbender! A G rating? Surely that'll be quite watered down?

MemberOvomorph01/20/2012Sorry if this has been said before...
Ridley has already said he is cutting a PG-13 (to make FOX happy) and an R version of Prometheus. I would go with that. The original Alien was rated R. Ripley said a few too many ^&%$ words...
