Kate Dickie/Murdow - Android?

Thanks both. Just read the topic and posted a reply! I think she IS an android. I think the fact (well, if the paper article is true!) that she had to dye her hair blonde, as Fassbender did, is maybe the telltale sign. Both these actors have amazing, piercing eyes, and I think with their pale eyes and bleached hair, they will both look rather eerie. Before I read that article I even thought that there would be something 'unusual' about Dickie's character, purely because of her 'look'.

I'm the same, I can't wait for June. I wish in someways I could go into the movie blind, not having read or seen anything about it, but it's just so difficult when you're a super fan not to look on the net!

Well, Charlize Theron is blonde, does that make her a third android?

Just thinking-out-of-the-box for the (speculative) case this would be true: what would happen to an alien after eating an android? More important: what would happen if an android is cocooned?

@jones; no, of course not; she naturally has blonde hair. But as Fassbender is an android and they have made him dye his hair a very unnatural blonde, then the fact that Dickie had her hair dyed too could suggest she is an android. Both Dickie and Fassbender have steely eyes and angular faces IMO. I think perhaps the casting team have gone for a certain look for their android/s. The fact that Theron is a natural blonde makes no difference. Besides, it's about Dickie dying her hair AND being responsible for getting the crew in ship shape. Not just the hair colour in isolation.

I think you're onto something there stefan, good post. It makes sense that this could be the explanation for her special position to be able to exercise therapy to her fellow crew members when by rights she would be wasted and languid herself after a long while in hypersleep. The blonde androids theory is intriguing. I too am curious about the Kate Dickie character, all the attention mainly being on the other actors up to now.

When she was little her parents probably used to tie a pork chop around her leg just so the dog would play with her. LOL I'm just kidding, she's definitely not a hottie like Charlize or Noomi though. If she is an android I think the indication that she may not have muscular atrophy makes it more of a possibility than the dying of the hair though.

Well the only pic I have seen of Kate from the film (off IMD) shows her having blonde hair.

She can be seen helping the old bald guy in the scene in the trailer with two men shooting firearms, and in that she clearly has dark hair.
