It was THEIR hype that spoilt it, not ours

MemberOvomorphJune 03, 2012824 Views9 RepliesThe problem with Prometheus was the hype created, not by the fans but by the virals, the clever and carefully released multiple trailers, the Weyland website etc. so much time and effort was spent creating a mystique about it, but that mystique didn't exist in the film itself.
We were all lead like lambs to the slaughter to expect something they couldn't deliver. When so much is invested in pre release virals and marketing, you want something special. What we got was something average in story and atmosphere, while being great aesthetically.
All my non hardcore Alien friends, the casual cinema goer, all agreed it was not as good as they expected.
