MemberOvomorph01/21/2012The air in the ampule room is breathe-able, there's no radiation, it's at room temperature and the gravity seems the same as Earth's. We have seen evidence of that in the trailer and the stills. Why is this? I think the ampule room was readied in anticipation of our arrival. Not to mention the presence of a giant human head statue. Why would an alien race travel with such dead weight? I'm beginning to think that the Ampule Room is in an alien temple on the Engineer's world. The space jockey ships we've seen are separate from the Ampule Room altogether. Is there a thread which already discusses this idea?

MemberOvomorph01/21/2012I think there may be one that touches on it but it's O.K. It was a while back now. You raise an interesting point. It's a perfectly respectable thread.

MemberOvomorph01/21/2012Well, no archeological site on Earth boasts archeologists wearing spacesuits - they're more accustomed to khakis and cotton shirts (even at the end of the 21st century). For those reasons alone, I am subscribing to the notion that the room is not of this world.

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012...their was that theory about the big head being the pilot of the ship...?...their was no big head in Alien...but this might be a different part of the ship that they never got around to exploring in Alien.

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012good thinking provo. it was a huge theme from alien, and it fits with the new film. rapace's "pregnancy", etc.
pay attention. thematic connections and aesthetic consistency are what makes a good theory.
