A rough plot synopsis from a Community member

At the invitation of another member to take stock and give the plot a stab, I've written down what I think is a reasonable plot synopsis. There is much I don't know about the plot of course, so I've included the [REDACTED] tag to indicate these plot elements: An elderly Peter Weyland decides to investigate the source of an alien radio transmission. Weyland takes his cybernetic individual, David, along with a corporate exec, Vickers, his personal assistant Ford and a biologist named Shaw. The starship Prometheus lands on the source of the alien transmission, an earth-like planet. The crew isolates the signal coming from a small mountain. The crew discovers a tunnel at the base of the mountain which appears to be artificial. The crew proceeds into the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is an opening unlike the mouth of the tunnel. Inside, the crew is shocked to discover a giant human head sculpted in stone, a dead alien life form and stone ampules arranged around the sculpture. The crew retrieves what they can carry back from the subterranean temple: The helmet of the dead alien and an ampule. Back in the Prometheus, David, the ship's scientist, analyzes the alien helmet and finds nothing remarkable. Opening the ampule, David discovers a biomechanical life form that appears preserved in a biological gel. David analyzes the biomechanical lifeform and discovers [REDACTED]. The crew decides to make a return trip to the temple to retrieve additional ampules, only with several different crew members. Once inside the temple for the second time, Holloway suddenly undergoes a frightening physical transformation. Holloway runs off into darkness of the stone temple and the crew immediately chase after him. After a fruitless search, the crew heads back to the Prometheus. Holloway returns to the Prometheus and is discovered lurking near the ceiling of the cargo bay. Suddenly he attacks Shaw from above, shredding her space suit. Holloway is killed by a gout of flame from a flamethrower. After the attack, Shaw is sent to the medical bay, where she rapidly develops a moving protrusion in her midsection. David responds by [REDACTED]. Shaw eventually recovers from the [REDACTED]. Other, stronger, more complex, alien radio signals abruptly begin transmitting from other parts of the planet. The crew decide to investigate the strongest signal. The Prometheus lifts off and lands on the other side of the world. Upon landing, the Prometheus finds an alien space ship, which is transmitting signals and emitting radiation at various wave lengths. Eventually, the crew decides to approach the alien ship. As no response is seen from the ship, the crew boards the alien craft and begins to investigate. After some minutes of investigating, the crew finds the navigation room. When David steps on the raised platform in the middle of the room, an intergalactic, holographic chart suddenly fills the room. David discerns the Sol system with our sun in the center of the hologram. Suddenly, a Space Jockey confronts David and [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] David sneaks back on board the Space Jockey ship and hijacks the engines such that they explode immediately after take off. Vickers and Shaw, attempting to thwart David's reckless plan, run from the crashing Space Jockey ship. [REDACTED] The End.
