Xenomorph 54
MemberOvomorph01/22/2012Hello everyone,
This is the first time I start a discussion.
Well, we all know that the xenomorphs will not appear in Prometheus, but there's obviously some threat in the movie, we can see some crew members with flamethrowers and pistols acting with panic in the teasers and trailer and everything
So, what do you think that threat is? Mutated humans? the engineers themselves?
Have you heard of phoenix asteroids?
They glow in every color of the rainbow...they travel endlessly through space...

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012Engineer/Jockey DNA mutated humans. possibly a proto xeno offspring from shaw. Perhaps the white parasite we saw on another leaked trailer somewhere on here. My guess is that David gets infected by jockey DNA, rapes shaw, he continues to mutate into Jockey pilot blue guy, shaw gives birth, half transforming herself into something only vaguely human, to white parasite creature. parasite creature slithers away and hides out near pilot chambers. now transformed david walks into chamber to join up with Jockey chair, parasite attacks. xeno's him up, he wakes up and cant remember what happened so continues into jockey chair where he will later chestbursts the progenitor to xeno we know. shaw and liz, with some of david's mutant qualities, strength, speed etc, sabotage ship and escape, perhaps have battle, robo vs mutant xeno woman to determine if evil tech gets back to earth.
or
That group of mercs or rival company(yutani) get there ahead of them and get Jock DNA'd up into skeletal monsters that attack crew 28 mins into movie, lol

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012just adding to the speculation, dude
This is going to be a movie for an entirely different generation than the alien lovers we know.
The Company(fox) are involved, and Damon Lindelof, who is hugely influenced b Stephen King, who writes for mass audience, lol, not a select few like us. I don't even think he's actually written any scripts for a film before. IMO, they should have got Abrams to write it. He didn't do a bad job with the star trek reboot. I know that synopsis sounds more like Cameron than Ridley, but this isn't 1979, unfortunately, and this movie has to be for a completely different audience, to fans of the original, whilst trying to get the hardcore fans attention too.
I don't want it to be so, but I think a lot is going to be sacrificed in order to bring in younger and mainstream audiences.
I really hope the Riddler can prove me wrong

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012Yep, that's Cthulhu. “Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn.”

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012er Snork, you're the Joker, lol
I think the Jim Carrey Riddler was far better than Heath Ledgers Joker, lol
Just kidding, I have taste

Gavin
MemberTrilobite01/22/2012Heath Ledger was the best Joker EVER, period.
Jim Carrey was a good riddler tho, they kinda copied him in the new batman games

PerfectOrganism2
MemberOvomorph01/22/2012Yep. love em
Jack Nicholson didnt do a bad job back then either, but Heath is definitely the best.
I hope the new batman can top the villain, have my doubts though, lol
He was just born for that role

HOOPER
MemberOvomorph01/22/2012As long as it isn't a jar jar binks look a like I don't mind what the threat is as long as it gives people really bad nightmares.

MemberXenomorph01/22/2012Guys,
Lets get back on topic. I think there is something behind the scenes manipulating the Engineers thus bringing about the xeno's. This was briefly covered in another thread can't remember which one. Anyways, I would consider something higher up the food chain than an Jockey/Engineer really scary.

Rick

MemberOvomorph01/22/2012no, the more intelligent, the less scary. it needs to be animalistic and completely deaf to reason. super intelligent dude=someone you can talk to and reason with. not scary.

deadcell
MemberOvomorph01/22/2012how about a mixture of the thing, with the mentality of the archetecht of the matrix.

Starbeast
MemberOvomorph01/23/2012The Thing from The Thing (80's version) was intelligent and scary. No evidence that scariness is inversely correlated to intelligence. Even the original alien exhibited intelligence.

MemberOvomorph01/23/2012I'm inclined to agree with Xenomorph 54's response to this discussion-after months of endless and somewhat tripe manifestations of speculation that leads almost nowhere but is fun to look at nevertheless!
We know that The Alien (xenomorphs, starbeast) does NOT appear in Prometheus. Instead, Ridley Scott is showing us another part of the Universe we know where no one can hear you scream. This time, he's telling an original tale about explorers and scientists exploring an extraterrestrial civilization after following a series of clues detailing the origins of mankind on Earth. Only they're discovery leads them to a planet where the same beings can eliminate life at their will with whatever bio-weapon they have.
So far we have humanoid stone heads, jelly-like acid melting people's space suits, and some mutant-like effect on the crew of the ship:

And then Giger's reportedly redesigning his original beast from the Necromonicon and the murals for the Space Jockey planet. And then the "Engineer" term is ambiguous-either the Space Jockeys we know from Scott's original 1979 film-or something different....

MemberXenomorph01/24/2012Guys,
Consider this. Define an engineer. When you think of an engineer oyu think of someone that has a high level of skill in machines, and design. But what a lot of people really don't consider is that an engineer is really a manager. A very skilled Manipulator. Here read this:
noun
1. a person trained and skilled in the design, construction, and use of engines or machines, or in any of various branches of engineering: a mechanical engineer; a civil engineer.
2. a person who operates or is in charge of an engine.
3. Also called locomotive engineer. Railroads . a person who operates or is in charge of a locomotive.
4. a member of an army, navy, or air force specially trained in engineering work.
5. a skillful manager: a political engineer.
We all know politicians are master manipulators why wouldn't the so called "engineers" be the same way? Everything on our planet is political in some way shape or form.
Regards,
Rick

Ripley Clone 8
MemberOvomorph01/24/2012I think the main threat will consist of one or more of the crew members becoming infected with some mutation of sorts and than attacking the rest of the crew. Also the Space Jockey's I think will become a partial threat in the film. If there are any xenomorphs they are bound to look entirely different and be a deadly threat. So my guess is those 3 things.
1. crew members will become infected with some mutation that changes who they are and they will begin to search and destroy any remaining crewmen.
2. Space Jockey's will unleash some kind of bio-weapon, whether it be xenomorphs or another kind of species.
3. The bio-weapon itself will potentially not only harm the human crew but also the Space Jockey's themselves, as we are led to believe in the beginning of "Alien" when Dallas, Lambert and Kane find the Space Jockey dead with its chest burst open.
