Hey everybody! I'm a new member of this awesome forum dedicated to a movie that I'm hoping will blow all of our minds! Furthermore, I'd like to applaud the whole of this community as many of the people posting on this forum are true aficionados of Alien and things related to that seminal film. On to my question though, and I apologize if this has been posted prior. If the xeno had acid for blood , does anybody have any theories on what the Space Jockey/Engineer's blood is like?! Possibly taking into consideration that if Sir Ridley has stated that there will be no xenos in this film, yet at least one crew member appears to be injured by something acidic, does this acidic burn have anything to do with the Space Jockeys/Engineers?!

Good point, and at the same time I wonder if the blood of an Engineer will be as a sort of bioformer. That is to say that the blood of the Gods has some sort of mechanism biomechanoid or nanotechnology which allows you to rearrange or change the DNA of a being live to manipulate it to his own liking and so give life to a new species.

or also could be acid...especially if we think that the Space Jockey are closely related to the Xenomorphs...

I still think the Xeno's are a weapon made by the SJ's! So their acidic blood is obviously another "weapon" feature that the SJ's built into them.

Indeed, as said Parker making emphasis in the blood of the facehugger as a magnificent defence mechanism...

Exactly! What better to do with a weapon to make it have acidic blood, even upon death it can still kill. . .

agree its more likely acid blood is an engineered xeno features, and SJ's may themselves prefer to avoid the inconvenience of occasionally melting razor blades in the morning etc.

@centaurian_slug haha good one! I guess I'm just really curious as to what substance burns the Prometheus crew member and where it came from?! Looks like we will have to wait until June.

It's likely that it is an aspect of the SJ's technology which made it's way into the Xenomorph biology later.
