MemberTrilobite02/2/2012Another cool idea RC8, when you do Alien Rez's be sure to include the footage of Weaver making 'that' shot.

MemberOvomorph02/2/2012i respect Ridley Scott as a director an awful lot,
at the same time, it just irritates me as to why he'd replace the original bizarre
derelict warning with the generic sounding one that he did when he released
ALIEN: The Directors Cut back in 2003
i think the original signal's audio as heard in the first link you posted is genuinely
fitting of what we ended up seeing minutes later when the away team enters the derelict
the initial audio effects that Ben Burtt did form that particular deleted scene really
struck a chord in me when i first saw that scene in the ALIEN Deluxe Laser Disc
set i bought back in 1992
i had seen ALIEN dozens and dozens of times on VHS up to that point,
and to see and experience all of these fantastic deleted scenes via laser disc
was just really great
i just wish that Ridley had left the original audio for that deleted signal
scene, i think it truly captures the essence of what was to come in regards
to the Nostromo's crew, and their awful fate once they left that planetoid
but, what's done is done. at least i can enjoy on Youtube
thanx for posting these links, they bring back great memories,
and help to galvanize just what a truly dynamic film ALIEN is

MemberOvomorph02/2/2012In my opinion all these deleted scenes make the movie slow, and that s what s the best feature of alien that it s fast development its a long movie but yet it doesn t feel that way.. the only scene i wouldn t delete its the distress signal i prefer it much more than the one they put afterwards

MemberOvomorph02/5/2012There was a deleted scene from
Alien which did not make it
Into the 2003 directors cut.
im talking about the scene where
The alien is sitting on the ground
staring at lambert with is head
Leaning to side. Its feet were in the front,
also its tail was facing forward while
It slowly crawls to lambert. As that scene
Appeared on youtube without any music,
it was not scary at all.

It's the last scene posted by Ripley Clone 8 above.
Indeed it was not scary, the movement looked waaay too human. It really does look like a human in a suit and we see too much of the Alien in that scene.

MemberTrilobiteJun-24-2012 10:25 AM@ Alegg,
They never filmed those scenes, they were planned in pre-production but changed to the derelict craft by the time the film went into production.

MemberOvomorphJun-24-2012 10:08 AMWhere is the "Temple Scene"?? I searched but found nothing about it. Some people talks about this scene on the net ; but it seems it doesn't appear on these 11 deleted scenes. I need to watch this sequence.

Oookay.... It explain why I found nothing.
I've read a comment on this site : "[...] i have the ALIEN book which has every detail about pre production, post production, the story and everything [...]"
I think everything about the "Temple scene" is in this book. If someone has other sources, thanks.

MemberFacehuggerAug-03-2012 8:38 AMOne Hill & Giler rewrite changed the alien temple/pyramid concept into a government facility. The derelict ship the crew find turns out to be human and they find human remains instead of the space jockey. I have the undated draft which features this. The eggs are also stored in a cylinder.
Ron Cobb concept art of this version of the scene:

Personally, I'm glad none of this came to pass and we got what we got on film.
