I took the day off from work on Monday to be home between 8 am and 5 pm so my installation could take place. For the 2nd time now in the past Month, they did not show up. Time to go looking for a new one. I am severly frustrated as this has limited my internet time and restricted it to use at work early or late in the day or whenever I can squeeze in a few minutes. The day before this started I was made a staff member and it has hurt me severly to not be able to do more and post like my usual self for the community but soon I will again and my sincere apologies to BuHunter and the entire community for my lessened time here with all of you. More than anythign else I miss chatting and cohorting and shmoozing with all of "Uze Guys". Each day I am gathering notes and new images and will have a hell of a post to make for you all when I finaly get this provider not showing up twice for the insatllation BS over and done with once and for all.

MemberOvomorph02/21/2012nope, and thanks for the concern man, it's beena nightmare...they take it from your bank account by diorect dep 5 days after installation, which I have now cancelled ,and then found another provider I am calling at lunch time to do it for even less, and with an even faster package.

Good that you found a cheaper and faster service too. Never hurts to shop around :-D

MemberOvomorph02/21/2012Videotron, just FYI has been charging me between $145-$160 per month for their three pack...HS Inet service + Telephony + digital HD cable TV.
I told them their cost is about $5 per month on what they are giving me and that the bandwidth for 2 of the three services is exactly the same and even the third, IP telephony, pretty juch uses the exact same bandwidth.
I ordered them to charge me less, they refused and increased their charges for anything over 30 GB.
I found a comparable service with a max out of 300GB for more than half of what I was paying, but getting them to honor their own arrangement ansd actually send the tech to do the install has been quite the frikkin challenge.
The company I switched to is already bnehaving worse than the one I left.
To me the biggest scam in the entire tech world right now, is what these providers get away with charging for bandwidth that should be free to all of us.

Co-AdminMemberOvomorph02/21/2012I know what you mean, at the moment I'm having to rely on using my phone for Internet by tethering it to my computer, if I use up the bandwidth I get with my phone recharge they increase every megabyte downloaded to $2 per mB. It's appalling. It only costs them cents on the dollar to send the data in the first place. They make an absolute fortune out of suckers like me......... But there isn't really anything I can do about it at the moment...... Soon though :-D
