Yutani

Well, for starters, Prometheus already eliminated the AvP canon with the release of their promo video. Secondly, I feel it's possible that we may see the two companies join in Prometheus 2. Weyland being the technology company, Yutani being the Weapon's company and the events of Prometheus lead them to consider joining forces. Who knows. But this is before Alien and Aliens, so Yutani isn't that important as far as I'm concerned.

you guys know my take on this I presume...That their never was any merger and we all just ASSUMED there was. The name was made NOT becuase of a previous merger or even a percieved merger, it was made to give the IMPRESSION that the company was a big one. Fact is...There never was, in any of the timeline any Merger of any Company. The name was just made that way to sound all big and scary. Yutani, was actually a neigbour {Mr Yutanitz or soemthing like this} of the gy who came up with the name. Any refernce to anythng coming from the AVP series , if you aks me, is invalid.

To me after the very unsuccessful AVPR film, FOX wanted to go back to just having both Predator and Alien be stand alone franchises. Predators basically ended the stalemate and basically what ended the AVP series. Prometheus is now Aliens turn in breathing new life into the series. Predators ignored the events of the AVP franchise. Robert Rodriguez even said that he learned how not to make a sequel from watching AVP, AVPR. FOX agreed to film Rodriguez's script that he had written 15 years prior to the release of Predators. At the time FOX couldn't shoot the script because it was just too costly budget wise. It was suppose to be the definitive sequel to Predator. So to me Predators broke this AVP shenanigans and now its Prometheus that will do the Alien series justice after those 2 silly films.

The possibility of Weyland being an OLD MAN in the medical wing of Prometheus does not make any sense what so ever...he would have to be a Young man, a Very Very young man...in fact...alL the way into the ENDING of ALien 3 which takes place some unkown years which are at least whatever they are PLUS an ADDITIONAL 57 years {THE TIME RIPLEY WAS IN CRIO before ALIENS even began}...into the future after that...BISHOP CLEARLY DECLARES..."The company", meaning Weyland himself, "sent him there to show her a friendly face", which although was more than likely a lie, was truthfull in that it was in fact a company order that sent him there...we also know Ripley was wrong and that particular Bishop had to be the real one because his ear gets blown apart and we clearly see at that point that he was a HUMAN...and Weyland himself could not be that much older than Bishop and still be an OLD man on board The Prometheus...it just makes zero sense.

Yeah I'd say the TED video does disprove all that crap of the AVP movies! Which I'm glad happened, yeah they were ok for teenagers who wanted to see shooting and aliens in a town etc but the true Alien franchise is a million miles "above" that kinda film. . . Prometheus will truely be the return of the greatest horror AND sci-fi franchise ever. . .

Michael Bishop or Bishop II, theres no concrete proof either way on that minefield. Predators doesn't ignore AVP, it backs it up IMO

It doesn't seem like he means only mr.weyland sent him specifically and anyhow the Peter Weyland of Prometheus is certainly not the Charles Bishop Weyland of alien 3 and god forbid....avP. Even though it stats the they're both founders at one point it would make more sense that Peter is Charles son or close relative. Any ideas? Maybe Mr.Scott is hammering out the past details that he doesn't like and rewriting whT he sees fit for his Alien and the company he had in mind?
