MemberOvomorphMar-03-2012 4:16 PMAfter reading a brief description of what happens to one (or many) of the crew members 30 minutes into the movie, I wonder what method of attack do these "skeletal" figures use. Judging by the shape of the head and what looks like a proboscis of sorts (if that indeed is the full shape of the the head and not a helmet), it would seem the "feeding" habit would involve some sort of puncture and suction.
The shape reminds me of the giant water bug (toe biters), who punctures, injects, dissolves and sucks out all the soft tissue inside an organism (very monstrous). This is oddly similar to the method used by the xenomorphs to attack (and feed?) except that they have a mouth at the end and tear down flesh instead of syphoning it. But anyway, just thinking about the water bug method of feeding and applying it to a monster-like creature who feeds on bigger organisms, gives me the creeps; Imagine a human or a dog or any big animal for that matter, being sucked from the inside out, leaving only loose skin and the shape of its skeleton....really creepy indeed.... If whatever becomes the xenomorph is shown in this movie, it should have some resemblance in behavior to what it will become, don't you think?

MemberOvomorphMar-03-2012 4:49 PMGood obs, trouble with this movie is that are so many good ides and a lot of them have already been brought up, that I'm beginning to wonder what RS has got in store for us. I'm mean surly him and his ideas team knew that once fans heard a potential alien prequel was coming out people would go doo laly with speculation to the plot. Hopefully they were as switched on as all of us ( well some of us) and are really going to surprise us.....

F--- it - lets go for it!
MemberOvomorphMar-03-2012 4:57 PMuscm...your right so much creativity and probably all wildly innaccurate - i hope
its all weve got at the moment, i bet ridley would piss himself at some of the ideas and
maybe squirming a bit as some have come close to the facts

-"@ Macs: where did you read this description?"
Just speculation on my part. The description of some of the crew being eaten in the first 30 minutes came from an interview of one of the actors in a magazine; it should be somewhere in the forums or links. Sorry don't remember where exactly... You know I must add that I am equating those figures in the background of some of the released pictures in the movie to these "skeletal" figures. We don't know yet if that is the case or if these skeletal figures will be known before the opening day of the movie, so in reality it is wild speculation on my part...

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."

MemberOvomorphMar-04-2012 2:30 PMI doubt it! The SJ's would have to be highly evolved humanoids. Why would they want or need to be such predatory creatures?

Indeed that is a good question, who or what are these "skeletal" figures, if they do appear in the movie? I was just speculating...

MemberOvomorphMar-04-2012 10:05 PMMacs I think (going via the trailer) the skeletal part is simply some kind of bio suit. A species with obvious superior tech to us, even in the future, would not go around the universe simply with a plan to suck the brains out of other hunaoids. If they did wouldnt they simply come to Earth and exterminate all of us?

MemberOvomorphMar-06-2012 5:46 PMI think they suck out your soul... yep your spirit and leaves a carcuss on the floor... they can then create crude biological creature from that old science DNA and put you in say well whatever they want to... Or even swap people about and so on...
but they look after and resurrect souls perhaps the vessels are their choosing but souls are what they want to keep more than DNA but thats part of it the DNA of the biology
