Prometheia: Bound, Unbound and the Fire Bringer

to be pendatic (which RS probably is)... Zeus was not a Titan, he was an Olympian - a newer generation of Gods that replaced the older Titans... So Prometheus was not just giving to Mankind, he was also defying the new order of Gods. Hence the severe punishment to Prometheus - as a warning to other Titans not to meddle again. Other than the TED address by Weyland where he says "we are the Gods now", it will be interesting how the movie ties in to the Prometheus myth.

If the Prometheus medaphor applies as so: Olympians = Humans Titans = Space Jockey Humans = Androids Humans do not see androids as equals. Androids are the creation of humans and if the medaphor holds true will lack the ability to sustain life and grow on their own (fire). This could be handed directly to the androids by the Space Jockey in the form of the ability to reproduce. In one quick scene in the trailer we see someone sitting on a bed with their head in their hands looking somewhat stressed (David?). One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that the person laying next to him looks bruised up. We also see what looks like Shaw in the same shape collapsing on the ship. Just a crazy thought.

I still think there is SOMETHING that we haven't seen yet that the Space Jockeys themselves answer to. I don't think they are the Engineers. I think they are literally space removalists/slaves. I think there is something far bigger and nastier, IMHO.

@Ashmodean Isn't that something. When God made mankind He made us imperfect, but when we create robots we will make them perfect and still look down upon them. Kind of says much about how we are. :/ As for who was getting out of bed in that one scene in the trailer, well, I just discovered something, and I could be wrong......that's gotta be the "Mohawk Man" that some people have talked about, the guy that goes bat-shit insane (or at least is shown pouncing onto someone in the trailer). You can even see him, if it's him, sitting with the Old Guy and David when Shaw collapses entering their room. Whoever it is, it couldn't be David, because David's head isn't shaven. But, like I said, I could be wrong here.

Androids didn't exist before us so they are not the "Titan" they are now the "human" in the myth. The "Titan" is the god that came before. The second part I agree with completely as the natural progression. Once androids can create life they will become the new "olympians" their creation the new "human" and we will be the new "titan".

@CrazyDave55811: I thought the guy at the edge of the bed was Holloway, but this is from the debunked plot synopsis that surfaced last year. @Ashmodean, I never thought of the guy in bed with Shaw as David. That would be very interesting if David impregnated Shaw, but I don't think Weyland Industries give their cybernetic creations the ability to procreate with humans.

@crazydave Im actually suggesting that humans intentionally design androids to be imperfect to a certain point that we can still keep control over them. You do, however, bring up the interesting idea that we were created imperfect for the very same reason. I agree it doesn't look like David. Maybe they have more than one android on the ship? They could be there to deal with situations deemed too hazardous for humans.

@GreatBoosUp Which one is Holloway? I haven't memorized all the characters; all I recognize mostly are Shaw (because she's arguably the protagonist of this movie), Vickers (no-brainer there <3 ), David (because he has my name), Janek (28 Weeks Later), and recently Mr. Peter Weyland. Oh wait; Holloway is supposedly Shaw's love-interest, or vice-versa.....I always thought of that scene in the trailer being a sex scene or something, come to think of it. lol [b][u]EDIT/UPDATE[/u][/b] Whoop; I found Holloway. We'll find out in 96 days craigamore...... It's just what I've gleaned from....... Stuff and things and my Batman mode :-P dunno when I formulated the theory, but it's been in my brain for a few months now.....
