let it be....

I've been wondering just how much original Giger stuff will be touched upon in the coming film. seeing some of the pics from his art collection and comparing it to the movie stills brings me to one conclusion......there are going to be tweaks here and there as far as the coming movies' concerned. I read recently that the cool thing about the SJ's and stuff from the original Alien movie is that there was a bunch of unexplained mystery. with that, Gigers art and such could be left alone, open to the viewers own imagination. Otherwise(as we seem to be going towards) we're gonna attempt to explain the guys unnerving mind and force reasons for his artistic abilities and interpretations. lets face it, Gigers art freaks us out and part of its draw is that we have'nt tried to fit him into any particluar bubble. not that we really can. I say this because, well, think about it? A super advanced race or group of beings living in blacked out, cave like structures? cant afford light bulbs or some cool light source? these "beings" are keeping xenos as pets or world cleaning tools? Nukes? Disease maybe? my point is, the original movie relied heavily on the art. how exactly(unless we dumb ourselves down) are we expected to believe that advanced beings dont have cooler tech going on? for the record, I totally dig the first couple of movies. however, trying to "squeeze" the hell out of the original story line seems like a reckless move. I can't be the only fan thinking this. I am, in NO way swinging from Ridleys' nuts but rather more concerned that Prometheus does'nt add to the Alien 3,4 AvP list of weak assed films trying to hold onto something sacred in all our eyes. but I'm just sayin.
