So basically a connection between the goddess of the sky nut (pronounced nwt) and the derelict has been made see the thread. http://www.prometheus-movie.com/community/forums/topic/1814 If you look at the giger life cycle also it displays a pyrimid.... So that got me thinking about encounters between the pharohs and the SJ's..... is that why they put them in a tomb at the base of a pyrimid surounded by lot's of coffins (sarcoffigus) for fear of an alien chestbusting a compromised pharoh by means of facehugger to entomb them before the chestbursting event so the alien creature would die before escaping i.e be trapped and could not get out in the pyrimids there is also a small hole that leads right down to the tomb from the sky... small enough for a facehugger was this the sacrifice to the gods or even an egg also the archiealogical dig is in africa where homosapiens first settlements discovered it's all starting to make sense and I belive they want the souls of beings forget biology they want your soul... And suck it out of you. do what they want with it ressurect you or keep you for later...

Interesting thoughts there Ronster...and I recall this 'souls wanted' notion being bandied about somewhere else too. Personally, I hope that ISN'T a plot-point in this thing, as since I'm an avowed 'atheist' who'll prefer to believe that the 'Space-jockeys'/'Engineers' themselves initially evolved naturally from a yet-to-be-fully-understood 'naturally-occuring' universal 'singularity', like everything else...then this would seem TOO far-fetched for me, lol.

It is all specualton but to try and takes things into the realm of myth vs reality which is what we will see in prometheus I thought I would explore this on here.... But I do not think the soul grabbing idea is too far from the truth even if your an aethiest perhaps how the power their ship with the energy from souls..... I just can't help but feel all roads lead to our souls / resurrection / rebirth / life / death and SJ's have the power to give and take life although if I am right the the xenomorphs being a weapon because they require a host this would cause soul energy to revive as a xenomorph rather than a normally reproduced mammell say by more widespread reproduction techniques... So they are like a curse and a one way ticket if you like a harvest of souls... This is on the back of the theory that no energy is ever lost and simply transforms itself to other energy.... Xenomorphs harvest the cycle because of their parasitic nature and requiring a host The xenomorph basically takes the host with it transforming what ever it gets into unto it... Rather than the normal cycle of life death reproduction and your energy resurrected or become part of everything when a xeno gets you it's different

Big reason here why i think AVP is INVALID as are the Predators themselves with respect to the entire Ridley created Alien Universe...and the "AA' theory itself.

I find the connection between the Egyptian god Nut and the Alien ship/derelict and Giger's mural very fascinating. Also, anyone notice that the little girl in the movie "Aliens" who survives in the colony is named "Newt"? The pronunciation of which is nearly identical to the pronunciation of the Egyptian god "Nut" (Nuit)... There is no doubt that religion plays a large part in Prometheus. Since we know the aliens left the star-map for future humans to pinpoint their location, CAN there be any doubt that the ancient humans would have revered the aliens as gods? That, coupled with the opening passage of "every king has his reign, and then he dies..." speaks volumes that perhaps the god-kings of earths distant past are the aliens, and that since Scott has mentioned that the Space Jockey we see is more suite than anything, its plausible that the aliens are actually super-intelligent, large versions of human-looking beings. they are certainly bi-pedal and have similar sets of features (two eyes, two arms with fingers, etc) BTW I think the xenos are simply a bio weapon... something akin to alien pest control engineered and grown in the alien ship; where humans or any other competing species are the pests or a lesser being that requires "punishment/judgement". My whole point here is this: that if the aliens made it a point to construct a ship which is in the likeness of an egyptian deity, then perhaps Nut was also the alien deity, some higher form of alien being they access, worship, or at the very least pay homage too in the design of their vessel which is the alpha and omega of life (it even looks like the Greek omega symbol). It certainly isn't the aliens, so it must be pointing to something else. Any thoughts?
