I think the script that was leaked was a definate fake and this makes me glad... I read it and have dismissed it because I think I know betterbut I could be wrong.... but basically my point is this if this movie gets RAPED before it's released and it's details scattered all over the internet it will crash in the box-office like a bombshell and lose it's integrity.... I've seen it happen before with hyped up projects that spill there guts before the starting point.... I am watching closely and if we start to see more and more infomation about what is actually in the film as opposed to snippets of infomation I will then know that the decision has been made to get as much interest before release to get their money back as it's already been hailed a failure and the media machine with no confidence in itself kicks in and spills it's guts all over the internet. So although I am excited for this movie and can't wait for the trailer Saturday... I read the fake script I don't want this stuff really littering my mind I don't mind specualtion on the plot that is fun and drawing possibles or maybe's from what we see from official sources but I do sincerely hope this movie and the people who worked on it keeps it's integrity intact until release. I would like to ask this site not to entertain such further people in the future and stamp out their petty deviance... pretending it's the real thing when it's only their interpretation albeit a fairly well thought out piece of work it should have been submitted as such rather than a dupe. Reason being that this site should refrain from posting even fake scripts that you will destroy the fan base by posting this stuff when we should be supporting officially released media and news and not playing into this because then you may tempt the real thing to occur or in part. So just as the creators of prometheus have to keep their integrity so does this site I hope that point is clear to you... Don't play up to this stuff please

This is the type of stuff that happened to The Thing Prequel last October. A script was leaked and to much information was let out causing the IMDB lurkers to trash it on their message boards making people lose interest and it had a tough time at the box office although it did break even the last time I checked. I waited 30 years to see what happened to the Norwegian Camp so it didn't deter me but it did many others.

Seriously I am a big fan of John Carpenters the Thing but I did not bother to see the film because I saw the original vision of the director dissolve into what the studio thought would be a better movie. The Norweigan camp was american camp no.2 was their even any Norweigen dialogue in the movie? I never saw it but I has heard about the film was basically meant to have been english subtitles which would have made it believeable and their could have used language barriers to increase the lies and deceit and people not understanding what is happening to increase tension instead it was american camp no.2 from what I gather... Totally useless decision and destroyed the directors vision which would have been better before the suits came and made it different destroying viable ideas that write themselves get accountants to audit the suits / executives into their capital risk assessments infact remove them alltogether from film making process alltogether anyway I hope Prometheus and Ridley has a bit more weight when it comes to a project like this and he will be given proper creative control over the final cut. Regardless can we have the news story trashed about the fake script and even this thread lets forget about it all and look forward to official releases and support the film rather than trashing Prometheus

i think only 0.1% ( maybe much less ) of the people that will go to see the movie are searching infos about it on the net ...so how much will leak will not have influence about the box office results ( imo ) .

Ok let's put it another way then Say I run a fan-site for prometheus and somone posts me a script stating that it's leaked from fox... Should I post it and say yeah it's fake without checking with fox entertaoinment first or should i just go nice try and not bother to post it... There's no scoop story here it does more harm than good and encourages others to act the same.... Thats what I am saying and I am saying this for hopefully everyones best interests the makers of prometheus, the internet community and any bullshit rumours that could be quelled from it just trying to discourage shitting on the project that is all... Like I said I've seen it before and it's up to fan sites like this one and others to be more loyal to the hands that feed them.

I'm just as concerned the film will become a victim of it's own hype. I'm sure it will not disappoint. But there is of course the remote possibility that it could turn out to be a bit crap :-(

For what it's worth, I read the leaked story. It won't affect my seeing the film. Even if it's the reel stoory.

it's fake you know it I know it too....I Just hope that we don't start seeing a trend towards this on the prometheus news headlines.... What's next? Fake Photo..... Fake Music Score... Fake Sound effect.... Fake Concept Art... Fake News basically

@ Ronster. Yes watch the Thing Prequel. It was great but yes the director bowed under studio pressure to switch the ending but the Norwegians do use speak their native tongue and there are English subtitles. Go get the Blue Ray. It has all the extra deleted scenes and you will love the Splitface transformation. Shilliam Watner

That second fake script is definitely fake. The words "center" and "artifact" were spelled "centre" and "artefact", respectively. Those are British or Canadian English spellings of those words, and both Spaihts and Lindelof are American. The spelling and grammar are awful, even if the script was only in draft form. I'm sorry, but no real writer makes as many typos as that. Nor do they rely on a spellchecker to catch their errors. You catch your own errors as you type, because you read and correct as you type. You know how to spell already. You know the difference between "its" and "it's", etc., and all the other mistakes people are supposed to correct and leave behind in elementary school. You just don't mistype. And overall, a lot of the dialogue and characters' actions were unbelievable. Nobody in the script ever seriously objected to doing anything remotely hazardous. The script basically read like, "Hey, maybe this is dangerous and we should be careful." "No, we'll be fine. Let's go." "Okay, we'll be fine. Let's go." Really, do the characters all use the "These are not the droids..." handwave to persuade each other to do things? We're gonna see the horror movie clichés of an emboldened character claiming no harm will come, and people splitting up into small groups? And the last thing--really? Really? The last scene of the film is the Alien's inner jaw snapping outward toward the audience? That is amateur-hour. Ridley Scott would never sign off on a gimmick like that. The script is a steaming pile, and if it's even remotely real, Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts are enormous tools and hacks, and so would be Ridley Scott for trusting their input.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

The Thing Prequel would have been much better when they had used mechanical monsters only, not that CGI crap. There where plot faults, too.. Not a bad movie, but The Thing is just a real classic just like ALIEN I and should have been treated as that.

ya know, whether or not some script is fake does not seem anywhere near as important to me as what new and creative ideas it may present...sometimes even something fake can have something creative about it and after all let's face it...until June 8th, 2012 with exception for "FRANTZ" who gets to see it before the rest of us on some farm 450 clicks outside of Paris while wearing his Xeno Helmet and eating a twinkie...EVERYTHNG is FAKE right now!

GRRRRRRR!!

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 8:27 AM
@Kane77 The effects in the Thing Prequel are not CGI. There is a short video on the dvd that shows them making all the monsters, and it is awesome!!

The thing prequel got panned so I'm inclined to listen to this and perhaps not bother... @jones agreed the last scene in fake script very cheap if I'd have written it I would have had shaw with mutant offspring in arms just as she's getting all mumsy do that job before the end credits roll lol and double jaw her through the skull lol I don't think this is how the film goes especially double rape of shaw and the double derelict the other double trip to Derelict nah not buying this... Not enough back story too it has no substance to it nothing that made me say this ties to the real world it's just a load of pooh

Anyone really looking forward to Prometheus will go to see it regardless of the fact if they read a leaked actual script (for argument sake lets assume it's real) For most film viewers it's about the journey. Now when I watch a Superman movie is it much of a mystery that he will win in the end? No, it's just fun to watch.. Now I won't dismiss the fact that some films rely on the mystery of the journey. It would damage some of the enjoyment of watching the movie knowing the story, but still wouldn't keep me from watching it. I myself have decided to not read any leaked script threads or any discussions in detail about script leaks, that's my decision.

I don't think this film is getting too much hype, to be honest. There is already a built-in fanboy base from the Alien movies who may be extra excited about it and the trailers and viral campaigns are really just catering to them. I think most people are hyped to see The Dark Knight Rises. If anything, I think Prometheus will be a movie that does OK business the first weekend and will rely on the word of mouth from fanboys to make it a success. Lets face it...anyone who loved Alien movies will be there the first weekend. But it'll take good word of mouth to get the non-Alien fans out to see it. As for the leaked scripts -- any press is good press and keeps the Prometheus name out there. Heck, the people behind the film could be putting these fake scripts out there to mess with us. I wouldn't put it past them -- especially Lindelof!

It's basically the same trap when studios allow novelizations of the film to be released at or near the time a film is released. These things are such quick reads they're difficult to pass up. I've made the mistake of reading a few of these books prior to seeing the film and it really does take quite a bit of enjoyment out of the experience of seeing it on the screen. I've never done that since. I agree. If a real script is leaked, it could really hurt this one.

Thats my point and I just hope this site does not give us the option to buckle under temptation of say the "real thing" should such a conceivable thing happen and hold back things from potentially destroying and ruining the experience I know that they put spoiler warnings up.... I'm ok with that I just wish that stuff like this did not make headlines.... it annoys me that's all, and does not deserve the stature that it has been granted that is my problem with it. It's been given grandiosity when it's not

Here's a crazy idea - don't read it. If you're terrified of ruining the story, what not just wait and see the film. Like how in all fairness are you going to be able to keep leaked/faked material off a fan website? Analysing every bit of available material is part of what these sites are about.
