Scale and Comparison

Based on the recent star chart shot found on Weyland Industries website, I have to once again question the possibility that the ship seen in the teaser is not our derelict. Based on the scale of the what appears to be the crew member standing at the center of the chamber in the photo. Now compare that image that of the Nostromo crew next to the space jockey. If its the sample vessel, it would seem that it has the capability to augment itself to suit the scale of the life form operating it. Now if the chamber is smaller than that of the one ALIEN, then the height of the bluish guy from the teaser becomes more acceptable. Unfortunately for some, it brings up the idea that there are other physically larger intelligent beings that play a role in this film. Unless the guy under the s in the teaser is in a early growth stage, and will gradually in crease to the scale of the space jockey. If not, that's one hell of a suit for a roughly 7-8ft figure. Always keep in mind the scale of ALIEN to the scale shown in the teaser and the photos. Something isn't adding up, or they have decided to do away continuity. Am I off on this?!

You also have to remember that when you watch that scene in 'Alien', do to budget constraints, the long shots of the chamber are not as long as they could be in relation to what we're seeing in the 'Prometheus' shots and we're never offered an entirely clear picture of the size and scale of the chamber in 'Alien. We are NOT given an opportunity to see the ceiling, how high it is, how wide, what it looks like, its relational proportion to the rest of the chamber. Based on all of thIs, it's reasonable to accept you only see about 40% of that room in 'Alien, most of which is in the center and part of one section of the spherical or elliptical wall structure. They're is just too little shown in 'Alien to suggest the sizes are not comparable. No, add this to the previous 'continuity' speculations to do with the 'production designs' around here. Some don't seem to mind that sort of thing, but it will drive others to distraction if stuff is merely 're-designed' everywhere. Personally, I'm hoping the look of certain things in PROMETHEUS won't contradict how they looked in ALIEN.

In the teaser when you see a team entering a cavern, it looks carved from rock, the alien interior looks very mechanical, but my mind can ignore that idea of how the more pronounced bone like structure of the derelict and the egg chamber looked. Telling us it's a choice made to give an "updated feel" to an old concept does not buy it. It be in the best interest to stick with what works, grant it there is a budget to keep in mind just like they had to do in the 70's. Will the explanation be that crew of the Nostromo was on or given hallucinogens before waking from cryo-sleep. The joy I find in science fiction, is the act of support the fiction side of the story with science fact or theory. What kills the joy for me is when an already established lore, is then BUTCHERED to death with a encyclopedia amount of revisionist science/allegory that sucks the essence and nostalgia from the original idea. Lets hope the little DNA mentioned, wont bight the fans in the arse come June 8th.

Giger has giant pre-made forms of skeletal arches, etc... made for his various "bars/museums". If they needed to save money they could fill those with foam and bingo... original organic structures.

To be fair, Alien was in 1979 and I'd have thought it'd be pretty impossible to build new sets completley 100% identical to those ones down to every millimetre. . .
