Somehow i think the TED sequence is
only for the marketing campaign
For the movie prometheus and not
included in the final movie.
maybe in a directors cut. But i think
It is like those teasers from.T2 or
Godzilla which never were part of
the movie.

Yeah pretty sure they said it wasn't part of the movie...but that doesn't mean there won't be more, it looks like we're gonna be getting a pretty heavy viral campaign going on the closer we get to release.

I never said or inferred that I thought the TED footage would be in the movie, It was just that after watching it I got the atmosphere of an introduction, and that we may see more footage continuing on from the introduction in which Peter Weyland presents something infront of the crowd - a theory, a design or something else entirely, that will act as a build up to the release of the movie.

I believe that there will be more snippets of the Peter Weyland TED talk as the release date approaches, just to keep expectatives high. That is what I would do, and is a sure way to generate buzz about the movie.

Thanks Sparky.
IMO the whole Prometheus story may hint at Peter Weyland either revealing something about an AA (Ancient Alien) discovery or the ship itself which we will see in the film.

Nice post.
I don't have any ideas what Weyland might talk about in a subsequent video, but it'd be interesting if they posted another TED talk, or just anything not directly tied to scenes in the film.
I'm generally thinking of more videos/media that depict events that happen prior to Prometheus--so they're essentially lengthening the Prometheus "experience" by releasing some relevant snippets, rather than including unnecessary exposition in the film that would mess with the pacing. It would be a good way to present stuff they edited out of the film--not sure if a viral campaign has ever done that before--rather than merely sticking it on an "extras" disc when the Blu-Ray comes out.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

i think what he may mention is that they have aquired some sort of technology. Alien technology, soemthing they find on earth they think is NOT of this world.

Perhaps there is more to that talk but I think that if it ends there it ends there but...
perhaps we'll get a talk from Ms Yutani too?

SpartacusMarch 09, 2012

I would like to see TED Talk video of Peter introducing the first "cybernetic individual" to the world. Or a TED Talk where Peter announces the plan to follow up on the first evidence of Alien life with a trip to the home world of the Aliens.

I think that the announce of a research program aimed at developing a drive that could send us to investigate some alien civilization that left some remains on Earth would be something VERY worth of a TED talk. And also tipical of our times:

BUT I think such a mission would be considered a trade secret and zealously defended against outsider´s sights.
That´s why I think that he will demonstrate an early prototipe of an android. Created in his own image. Very godlike.
