Ship to ship combat? Prometheus trailer of trailer.

I still highly doubt the collision theory. Why? Because in the 1st trailer we can see SJ ship rolling and Shaw + Vickers running away from it while there are burning pieces falling. Earlier we are shown that SJ ship falls, then shown it rolls, with burning pieces falling. I still can't see how Prometheus could collide with SJ ship, remain airborne while SJ ship falls and starts to roll and explode in air so burning pieces are falling while SJ ship is rolling. It makes no sense, to me atleast. My new theorycrafting: There are two SJ ships, Prometheus shoots/drops one down some way, the other SJ ship destroys Prometheus after this. I can't really agree with the argument that Prometheus is unarmed because it just is "unarmed research vessel". Why do we see atleast 2 pistols + 1 flame thrower in the trailer if the ship is unarmed? I think it's reasonable to assume that the company would do anything to take what they can, so in this light they could arm the ship with Missiles. This is not some university or UN research vessel after all.. But I really have no way to explain why Vickers would use escape pod...
