MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 1:53 AMEnlight of the flood of recent info i thought maybe we could revive a past thread if it is desided to have been a bad idea feel free to lock at anytime. Thank you BH.
With the recent release of a "fake" script and an amazing teaser trailer i went back and took a look at what we have seen and discussed thus far in regards to the "Progenitor" we've heard about. Im sure after this new info maybe some people have formulated so new interesting ideas about our Xenorific Baddies.
We have the classic "facehugger" like GIF (which i think is much more of a center to this movie than its being given credit for)

This is so reminiscent of the '79 Facehugger scene that this alone makes me so damn excited for this film.
Then we have everyone favorite...."mutant xenomorphic manthing?"
He showed us he can climbs walls

This man however doesnt appear to be infected with a chestburster per say but he seems to be transforming. Could this be a different way for the "Xeno" to infect a host? Then does it just restructer DNA and add its own? I suspect simply another form of Bio-weapon possesed by the Space Jockeys and the Humans release more than one.
He appears to be on fire and is also being shot so my guess is maybe this guy doesnt last much longer after this scene, i think whatever the "facehugger" from before does is what will turn into the Xeno we all know.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 2:04 AMIMHO I think the real biological weapon is the liquid from the polls. The monsters are just the result, the impact of the bomb.
Being infected with the creature liquid must preserve the species, so it must generate some sort of life cycle as the Xenomorphs.
For the first picture you uploaded, it is possible that this is a prototype of a facehugger, not original. Perhaps it was referring to Ridley with Alien DNA.
But while we can not ignore Shaw's pregnancy, probably one of the greatest mysteries of the movie.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 2:16 AMAnd the boy's mutant flamethrower scene reminded me of scenes from "The Thing". But surely in this scene we have 2 monsters:
1) Anyone who was burned (I hope it's the most horrible of two)
2) The boy mutant
The fact that the mutant is as skillful climbing walls and making great leaps with great legs seems to point to something half insectoid. And with great agility looks like a creature meant to be fast and agile as James Cameron's Aliens. The original Xenomorph of Scott is slower, but more intelligent and sinister.
In conclusion all will be brand new, with some touches of the classic (Alien DNA) and perhaps an end to connect to "Prometheus" with "The eighth passenger."

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 2:34 AMWhat am I suppose to be looking at in the top 3 gifs? What is happening? Looks like a cat scan

MemberTrilobiteMar-13-2012 4:50 AMLooking at the top 3 GIF's it seems to confirm my suspicions that something bursts out of Shaws stomach.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 5:18 AMIf you look at the mutated 'mans' head, it's definitely Xenomorph-like....rmember the original Alien Xenomorph head mask had a human skull at the from of it...WE ARE XENO's !!!!!

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 7:44 AMThe creature is incredibly large and if you analyse the head shape, yes it looks like a halfway point for a Human's mutation into a Xeno, however it is also the perfect shape of a Space Jockey head. It's possible that this could be the creature that actually ends up putting on the Space Jockey suit and getting stuck to the pilot's chair.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 8:07 AMso, now
it seems some people will have to start realizing, that the truth is, Scott never had any intention of not having his "Star Beastly Prodigy" make a cameo. He would had to have been nutz. It's his ONLY chance to do it in the past 33+ years...he must be just loving micro second of this whole pre film speculation Empire he has deliberately created!

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 1:13 PMIf we have to stomach mutation as a plot point then I would rather the route of cocooning rather than mutate-while-u-wait so to speak. It just turns it into a B-movie, IMHO.
Having said that, if anyone can pull it off, it's sir Ridders - but I still hate the look of the mutated guy.

MemberOvomorphMar-13-2012 9:49 PMI whole-heartedly agree with Starbeast 110%!
(Yes, I meant 110%)
I, too, hate the mutation idea. I hate it so much, I'm going to start referring to monster makeup man as "Kuato". Kuato in Totall Recall is awesome for it's campiness; Kuato in an Alien movie is lame.

MemberOvomorphMar-14-2012 4:45 AMI'm convinced he's metamorphosing into a xenomorph. His face is falling away and the skull at the back is dark and smoothe.
I think the green stuff is a material used by an as-yet unidentified species to bio-colonise lifeless planets.
