3 different mutations

Hello guys, here's an opinion that merely states the obvious - but I still think it makes sense to post it, because I haven't seen it put down in this systematic fashion: It seems that the trailers have now hinted at 3 different mutations suffered by 3 different humans... previously: 1. the quick aging (in the aging guy) 2. the agility, swiftness and ability to climb walls like an animal (in the mohawk guy) and now also: 3. the elongated limbs and the oval shaped head (in the new wrestler guy) ... that all end up being distinctive traits of the Xenomorph (parts of the "alien DNA"), which indicates that during the movie they will be somehow mixed together, hence originating our beloved creature. Would you agree?

A "leaked" synopsis indicated a kind of orgy between the mutated crewmembers, if there's any truth to that, maybe the result of that is a combination of all these traits.

An orgy is a possibility, but I'm also thinking...what if all the mutants are further combined to form a new egg or facehugger? You've now combined the high metabolism, agility/swiftness, and limbs/head from the three mutants into one form. Perhaps that then goes on to infect someone else.

I still think the 'aging guy' is Weyland. When you compare pics of him as a young man and him aged he looks awfully similar to Guy Pierce. This, of course, is just my opinion.

Alien-Human Orgy is just way too insane for a summer movie. Hollywood can offer ultra violence (remember TOTAL RECALL? STARTSHIP TROOPERS?), but not sexuality, definitely not sexually defiant acts. Just an impossibility in this age of conservatism. In the 70s, maybe. The Seventies offered a crazed teen sticking its tongue at a priest taunting him to fuck her in THE EXORCIST, a mainstream porno DEEP THROAT, Catholic nuns going orgiastic in Ken Russell's THE DEVILS, a man who commits adultery at his sister's wedding in THE GODFATHER, a poster of JAWS, a heavily marketed summer movie, showed a triangular head of a predator rushing to consume a half-naked female. Just a sample. OT: Do Not Buy Canon 5D mark III, overpriced piece of garbage from greedy corporation. Don't buy Nikon either. Don't feed the beast

ahahah love it how this opens room for all kinds of creepy theories on how the DNAs get mixed (nobody keen on seeing it done inside old-fashioned test tubes, huh?)... One comment to IrishAndroid1: that might be true and his aging still be due to a mutation. He could be still young at the beginning of the movie for all kinds of reasons: stasis, near-speed-of-light-travel, etc. Also JMO.

In one of my fav films "Legion: The Exorcist III" {and even better described in the book by William Peter Blatty} A priest, Father Dyer, has his entire blood supply drained from his body and placed in 18 vertcally arranged specimen jars by the side of his corpse...at the hands of the "Gemeni Killer" in under 3 minutes and without him spilling even one drop of the blood. "The Overall Effect is Astonishing" as stated by Jason Miller as the demon from the ortignial Exorcist film now possessing Brad Dourifs "Gemini Killer" body while locked away in the mental wing of a Hospital in Washington!!! An eerily terryfying film scene that plays out just as it was written in the book.

@IrishAndroid 1 .... O think you are sport on, i know that the events in Prometheus are meant to be years after the announcement and archaeological dig etc... so if you were him and had put so much money into this project and you were still alive, would you not want to go along. There is just one problem with that... and that is Pearce says he is only in it a few minutes but maybe that was just a decoy, who knows.

Wasn't it said at one point that Guy Pearce would be wearing a lot of prosthetics in the film. Originally we inferred that you mean something fancy, but what if it is in fact just old man prosthetic make up?!? P.S. Don't like the idead of three mutants becoming one and becoming the Alien, in fact I don't like the idea of the Alien being created in this movie. The Alien to me is almost Lovecraftian in its appeal, thus should be ancient.

I'm not talking "uncut version of caligula" type of orgy. If there is such a scene I'm sure it'll be more implied like the scene from.. one of those matrix sequels. Even that scene in Alien Resurrection where Ripley was sinking into that mass of Aliens was kind of orgy-like. Speaking of which, what the hell exactly was going on there? Was the alien really supposed to be humping her?? I always assumed by the motion of the background that it was just carrying her off somewhere but I've heard several people mention the "human/alien sex scene" in that movie.. WTF!!

Good point, I thought it was this...they new she had some Queen DNA in her and therefore they wanted to be close to her...and vice versa I think...so it was more a "HugFest"...that was how I rationalized that scene for myself at that time, but you opened up a Fantastic discussion point there Rick if you do not mind my saying so. Great stuff.

May I kindly remind you guys that the original post was about 3 different human mutations that reveal distinctive traits of the Xenomorph? And that evidence of this is inferred from the trailers rather from fake plots or any other source? Thanks for your understanding.

You got it Frantz, I'll send you a slice of what I had for lunch today..."Georges" restaurant meat Lovers, including candian bacon, ground Beef Italian Suasage and Pepperoni...It Does in fact Kill People, saw one guy have a heart attack the other day in mid bite...and on the subject of "3 Mutants + some oregano +" and voila We have a Xenomorph...I have to say that it is entirely possible that the 3 Mutants and their traits while Xeno Like may have nothing at all to do with any Xeno and at this point we have no way of being sure they are/do...Scott could be using this to mislead people deliberately.

I agree with Snorkelbottom - in an MTV interview Ridley Scott said "I don't want to repeat it. The alien in a sense, as a shape, is worn out". Why on earth would the big clue in Prometheus be the creation of that Alien?

@Snorkelbottom and @Visualizer: I would agree with that too. But I'm just pointing out the traits that what we can all clearly and logically see in the trailers.

Could it not be just different stages of the same mutation. Perhaps the end result is something akin to the xeno we all know and love but sufficiently differently? We know Ridley has stated that he wants to move away from the original xeno but from what we've see there are definitive similarities. Not sold on the olds guy being one of the mutations.

I think the mutations are a simple indication of what kind power the Earthlings will face. But our beloved friend which we call Xeno, is a mutation of a ALIEN origin, but given a new form courtesy of Kane's dna. Test tube mischief or selective breeding, the end will be the same. You can keep your my shares, just get me off this God forsaken rock ASAP!!! On a totally different note: I never like the idea of leaving a cargo bay doors/ramp open when the team has already disembark. I makes sense if there are sentries at the post but not if I'm visiting a foreign land much less world.

@Visualizer: fair enough. @Snorkelbottom: just because you don't like the idea, it doesn't mean it won't come true. Will all due respect, "NO" is the kind of line of thought that my 8-year-old nephew has stopped using already some time ago. @Mekya-Tek on the +Kane point: sure. Don't want to be insisting, but I just find it hard to believe that 3 different mutations Xenomorph-like are only a coincidence. But yeah, maybe it's just me and my belief in Occam's Razor.

Wouldn't Peter Weyland be in his 80s or 90s by the time of Prometheus?
