BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
Its working now go figure... maybe the cache was slow to react. Okay there are some very interesting things. This is insane:
"Weyland Industries earns patent number 18,364,003 for Method and Apparatus for device able to temporarily restart brain activity of deceased individuals."

BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
Might want to add a spoiler warning for thread so users can find these things out for themselves on the actually site first. For better enjoyment.

Mr.JMarch 16, 2012

They invented the power loader...the freakin power loader, did James Cameron write this time line???? lol

Mr.JMarch 16, 2012

BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
"Weyland Industries earns patent number 17,900,353 for Method and Apparatus for an antigravity device that 3D live-maps any foreign terrain, revolutionizing the pre-process of terraforming and developing new colonies."
Can we put the scanner balls to rest now!

CypherMarch 16, 2012

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."

BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
"Weyland Industries introduces revolutionary, game-changing language tool. It is the first ever to require no actual learning on the consumer’s behalf."
Wow are they reading our posts. They are answering lots of questions.

The reviver thing says "temporarily". Guessing for the purpose of "Who the hell killed you?" situations.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

Mr.JMarch 16, 2012
and there is no mention of his death on the time line, you would think that would make the news...

Mr.JMarch 16, 2012
He probably is...makes an appearance at the end of Prometheus and gives the 937 command for the Nostromo...

BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
Okay well it looks like the development of hypersleep lead to that development. If you died would you tell people you were resurrected. It was just a thought. There are so many things now it is going to get crazy here : )

genjitsu17March 16, 2012
Yutani must win another case. Gets part of the company? Wonder if he's stealing ideas.....

If you could bring people back to life you would have essentially a "run on the bank" by people that wanted loved ones back. It would be a game changer forever and you might not want to say you can do it fully.

BiomechanicMarch 16, 2012
Just think of the socioeconomic ramifications. Do we all have the right to bring someone back? What does it cost? Why is it only the rich or politically powerful that get to live forever and by that are able to consolidate the power. New types of oppressive monarchies could arrive, new types of wars. Give new meaning to the haves and have nots.
Even if it's just enough to say goodbye to them it is going to create major problems.

Well the time line covers element from ALIEN to Alien3. So I guess Fox decided to quell the bickering of the fans, by saying papa Ridley approved this timeline, so behave yourselves. Be nice to Mr. Cameron and Mr. Fincher, now go buy ALIEN Anthology and pre-order your movie tickets!!!
The zombie patent makes sense for the recently dead (Like within minutes), but if they days or more then that seems silly.
I still think young Sir Weyland gets cloned or becomes a droid.
There might be a blade runner moment in this movie also!
Remember "It's not easy to meet your maker!"

I bought the new issue of EMPIRE magazine; awesome holographic cover and great coverage of Prometheus. The cast give their perspective on the movie and Sir Ridley Scott answers all the questions you could ever ask! Definitely worth the cash:
