AdminEngineerMar-19-2012 7:38 PMIt looks like her head is being clamped down at the other end of this machine.. We might be seeing a "Facehugger-like" Alien being detached from Shaw's face and she is struggling as whatever it is, is being removed.
Just a thought. As I see her legs and arms waving about, but her head seems to be locked on that table.
The theory of this creature being attached to Shaw's umbilical cord is hard for me to grasp, as there is not a shot yet of anything coming out of her.. at least in that region.
From this GIF (which is aweosme by the way) I see a squid-like facehugger resembling that of H.R Giger's original Facehugger designs being removed from Shaw's face.

MemberOvomorphMar-19-2012 8:59 PMk so this might sound crazy and i dont want conjecture to become a spoiler, so dont read this if you dont want to be exposed to wacky m. night shamylablahblah twists. i haven't read any script jazz or anything but i was reading the corporate timeline searching for clues for the password on project prometheus and i'm interested in the august 16, 2071 block. patent on Method and Apparatus for device able to temporarily restart brain activity of deceased individuals.. since i read that, i'm convinced Shaw dies at some point and gets resurrected. Could this be the apparatus for restarting brain activity? Could there possibly be a link between the facehuggers development through the company, the android specifically, since we see him pulling that jelly tentacle thing? out of the lab canister. Like a hail mary to end the game.. Possibly a modification of the human technology to destroy the God? sorry for stream of consciousness ..

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 12:01 AMThe fake script has Kate Dickie naming herself as Imora Mudow; The new trailer shows her with her yellow Weyland name tag with a last name of Ford. That script took everything we knew at the time, theories and rumors, and turned it into a compilation to seem real. I only read the first part of it and I've already found proof to contest against just that first part, so it should be a fake.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 1:07 AMfrom what i could see in the trailer
regarding Shaw and the medical bay scene above
it's not attached to her face, i do believe it was surgically removed cesarian style
buy the automated surgical chamber she's inside of, if you may notice, there is a
quick shot of Shaw's POV as the medical chambers robotic arms / clamps run
downwards towards her lower body making the motion the the arms are in the
process of preparing to take ahold of something
you may also note, there is a shot of Shaw looking spent / terrified / angry
when she's looking in the mirror, look at the abdominal area that is in profile,
you can make out what appears to be a freshly sutured wound where this thing
may have been removed on the exposed skin of her abdominal area
there is also a shot of Shaw barely able to walk in the hallway of the ship,
she seems to be grabbing her mid-section in pain, either from the "labor"
pains - - of the pain of post-op. you can see surgical suture staples on her
lower midsection
at least, that is what i've deduced

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 3:39 AMIf there is something that the trailers did show to us is that every "leaked " plot was totally fake !
Shardy deductions i think are pretty right .

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 7:25 AMif you look at the Weyland site you will read about in the Weyland time line the device she is in is a medical capsule. if you look at the top of shaw in this shot the machine has removed the creature(chest burster) from her and its being held by the machine. The medical capsule are meant to be able to do almost any type of procedure by all accounts.

Shinoyami65
MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 7:36 AMIt may not necessarily be Shaw, as you can't see the face in the shot. Why does everyone automatically assume it's Shaw? It could be any character that got "infected" by the creatures in the Space jockey citadel.
Disektor is right, the creature isn't attached to her, but it's definitely not a chestburster. For a start, it's pale, not reddish and it has..tentacles? growing from its head that you can see thrashing around.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 7:41 AMAfter the squid thing is removed by c-section we see Shaw barely able to walk in the hall where the red suit is hanging.
I presume that she makes her way to the other medical room seen in the Dec. trailer where Vickers, the old man in a wheelchair, and another male are having a conversation. She collapses from pain and exhaustion.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 5:23 PMMy opinion ,yes it is a proto chest buster and its been removed by the machine shaw is in,
that machine is this,,,Weyland Industries earns patent number 16,572,092 for Method and Apparatus for the first fully-automated diagnosis and surgical station. You can read it on the weyland website timeline. And look closely you can easily see an umbilical cord from the creature to Shaws tummy.

Smarc
MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 11:45 PMthat´s pretty clearly an umbilical cord which means that the alien above must have been connected to shaw´s uterus so that it can not be a chest buster imho;

Biomechanic
MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 11:49 PMWhy the stitches in her belly? It is definitely something removed from here stomach.

Smarc
MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 12:10 AMthat´s what i think too, it resembles pretty much a C-section (like shardy wrote)

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 12:28 AMSo, if something is removed or attached, whatever..., why is the medical table/capsule opening? If it was a medical procedure with an "alien life form", wouldn't you want the person to be quarantined? Could be wrong, who knows.

MemberOvomorphMar-22-2012 8:08 AMIf the company do have this kind of technology - at the end of Alien 3, when Bishop 2 says to Ripley that the company just want to remove the alien, maybe he was telling the truth. (although for all the wrong reasons).

Myrddin365
MemberFacehuggerMar-22-2012 8:16 AMThey would have removed it and saved Ripley's life possibly, but they would have kept the queen.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!
