lol. good point but the topic does in fact move to the front, it's timed to go up when you hit the submit button though and not when you 1st create the thread I believe.

There has been one change, which was a big step forth indeed.
Now the latest answer to a topic is put on top of the list called "Latest Prometheus Forum Posts" which can be seen by clicking on the Community link at the top right of the page.
But the problem which I was referring to (and I guess flacnvinyl as well) is that the topics stay buried in their position/page.
Let's just imagine that through some necroing a very old but interesting topic in the Alien Discussions area is resumed (e.g. "My aunt totally looks like a facehugger", started June 2011): my answer appears on top of the list.
Then on the Prometheus Discussion forum a new hot topic is started (e.g. "ZOMG Spoiler!!! Holloway is the SJ and eventually turns into David"). 10 people rush to answer to that topic, so my answer to the other discussion is pushed on the second page.
Nobody else would see/know/care/find about my answer, and if they go on the "Alien Discussion" forum they won't see it because the topic hasn't been actually bumped.
I have seen many interesting discussions fade because of this.
But again, I don't know whether this is something that can be implemented easily in this forum, and I appreciate the effort of BH and all the staff to get everything going, mine shouldn't be intended as a rant, I am just trying to explain what I mean (english is not my native language, sry!).
Edit: a very recent example is Spartacus's post about the documentary "Alien Makers IV". It sparked some interest, but once it was pushed back, even when people posted on it, it was actually difficult to find it, and somebody had to open a new discussion asking where to find that link.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

yeah the lack of bumping and no search function is brutal. I've dug through pages looking for links and failing to find them....

It's coming, "BugHunter" is aware of how serious an issue this is and as soon as he is able to we will have it or there will be an update from him, he is most Pro-Active with regards to this type of issue and you can rest assured it will be dealt with in a timely fashion. Thank you very much for your patience. Please continue to search before through the appropriate categorie{s} before creating new topics as best you can for now.

This is something I've also sorely missed on this site, and will be a very welcome upgrade as far as I'm concerned when BugHunter can get on it.
