Prometheus, Realistically

MemberTrilobiteMarch 20, 20121513 Views26 RepliesI keep seeing a lot of posts from both newcomers on longtermers of our second home (prometheus-movie.com) using terms such as proto-egg, proto-xeno, progenitor. It seems that a lot of you are bent on whatever "thing" is in this movie HAS TO BE an early form of the Alien.
Yeah I get that we are all fans of the Alien, in various degrees.
But the only Alien-esque thing I see is the mural in the recent trailer. Which for that to exist suggests to me that the Alien already exists well before the movie takes place. Same goes for this thing born from Shaw, I have heard BM call it a proto-egg (despite the scene with the big tentacle/tail hitting the door).
IMO Prometheus is a film about the Space Jockey's and does not feature the Alien. I have said that from day 1 and have yet to see anything to tell me otherwise!
Also I see a lot of talk that the recent trailers have retconned AVP and anything after Alien out of existence. I see no evidence of this, in fact I see evidence to the contrary:
1. Weyland Industries - AVP
2. Peter Weylands father was a self taught engineer - AVP
3. Building Better Worlds - Aliens
4. Powerloader - Aliens
5. Correctional Colony - Alien 3

@ ANZ - His response was cryptic for the fear of offending those that believe the Xeno will make an appearance.
@ Scrounger - plz use IMO or IMHO when stating theories, your of wish are common of late but this whole idea genetic ooze being tampered with is conjecture at best.
@ Sparky - I love ya man (in a hetero way) but as usual your missing whats right under your nose. Prometheus CANNOT be about the creation of the first ever Xenomorph because...
1. The Mural in the trailer depicts a fully grown Alien, how can that be if as you say it has not yet been created.
2. Remember the door relief that also depicts the Alien, same argument.
3. If Prometheus was about the creation of the first Xeno explain the thousands, if not millions of Alien eggs on the Derelict bound for Earth.

Exactly the last thing we want is Weyland -Yutani desperately seeking an alien lifeform they in fact created.
