son of prometheus
MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 8:40 AMIf the Space Jockeys aren't a good guys. If they are bad guys that only use biological DNA of others beings for your purpose like the aliens in the alien franchiese. Maybe they came to earth in ancient times for investigated us in future use in your experience. Then, because they only travel with few crew members, they die here and the others space jockeys not know about us. Then, when the prometheus crew arrive in your ship they discover it and then they want to go to earth. But, somehow they infect humans with your biological manipulation (the 'snake' that appereance in the trailers). I know that is especulation, but WHAT ARE YOU THINK ABOUT THIS?

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 8:47 AMThis is an interesting question. Speaking of Space Jockeys, it looks like the guy who was infected is the one who will become the big blue guy we see in the trailer. Also, there is the idea that the Space Jockeys(after having seen humans steal their technology somehow), become the antagonists.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 9:03 AMIt’s a possibility that the Jockey’s are a flip of the coin, in regards to what they are, literally.
Maybe the Engineer’s created the genetic material for an advanced species to mutate into an upgraded version of itself, when discovered. i.e.; a human, or even an android, becoming a Jockey.
But if there is a malicious act evolved, in the collection or usage of the gifted technology, that new “sample” Jockey can be “programmed” to return to the species from which it came, and deliver the “knock-out blow” to the corresponding species, which has violated some galatical ethics/morals. By using the Derelict, and becoming biomechanically bonded with the craft, so it's almost "locked into" it's doomsday mission.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 9:36 AMPlease excuse me if this has been discussed before.
Is it possible that the only reason the SJ race "seeded" other worlds was because their own race was doomed (for whatever reason) to extinction and the knew it. They needed something close to their own kind to repopulate and left behind one or more SJ's in cryo or in DNA "goo" to interact and experiment on whatever "children" showed up? Could this be what's happening to the Prometheus crew?

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 9:51 AM Look at the basic characterizations, from the original Prometheus myth.
Man, is humanity, in the year 2095, or whenever this is suppose to take place.
The Titan ("Prometheus", mythologically, and in the ships name), is the crew, which travels to "steal the fire" (technology).
Zeus, are the Engineers.
The Eagle. They, could be the tools of the counter-deception. Turning someone into a "bad" Jockey, with a "programmed" mission thereafter. And, there have been references to the weird looking Giger Alien, embedded in the wall of the temple, looking like it has wings.

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 8:04 PMis the topic creator foreign? but yeah im guessing they are bad guys..they ruled earth in the past and are planning on going back to do so..they left a signal for humanity because they use humanbeings as their hosts..in order to live again and to cheat death
they do this by preserving their dna in the ampoules and once they come in contact with a host the space jockey dna takes over and they live again

MemberOvomorphMar-21-2012 10:55 PMHey, I am new to the site. BUT a very big fan of the Alien franchise. If any of you haven't read three books
Aliens: Earth Hive
Aliens: Nightmare Asylum
Aliens: Female War
They are in a sense a direct sequel to Aliens to an extent. Some character names were changed but basically the story continues on with Hicks and Newt.
But anyway, I believe towards the end of the second book and through the third you are introduced to the "engineers" and they are according to the book "bad". I will not say anymore, but if you are interested you can get the books on amazon. I read them and have completely forgot Alien 3 and Resurrection just because I felt those movies didn't do the series justice. Plus I like the fact the story was moved away from Ripley.
Hope that helps.
