MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 1:59 AMCryo chambers perhaps?
'Jocks are awakened by explorers, reanimate and set sail to reap what they have sown?

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 2:06 AMEgg shape is symbolic of creation, perhaps, showing a pretty good depth to what ends the 'Jocks have gone.
That sounds WAY too deep for 1 AM in the morning, friends and neighbors, but looking at the picture, it sort of shows some sort of creation motif we've seen in the flicks preceding this take on the mythos.
Man, that sounds pretty d-bag right there, reading back the last sentence, but I gotta throw down this: it all comes in a shell, we crack it open, and unleash a failed breakfast.
Hell, does that make any sense? I say this gig we're about to see in 75 presents the worst breakfast ever.
Gotta go to bed, man - dig the takes on what the movie might be.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 6:54 AMYeah you are onto it, I think. If you look closely there is an empty chair, glowing green toward the bottom of the picture (nice, by the way). So one of the crew-take your pick on speculating who- gets into the chair- His DNA is analyzed and downloaded into the SJ's memory. The machine wakes the SJ up. Having the information given by whoever sat in the chair, SJ proceeds to re-animate and fly off to terraform EARTH to suit their needs. We humans are a biological tool for the SJ's terraforming just like the xenomorphs. Or maybe nothing like that at all. I love to speculate about this movie; I have waited a long time to see the answers laid out in that one, brief scene in 'Alien.' I don't think we'll be disappointed, and I wouldn't believe ANY leaked script.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 9:13 AMYou are making the assumption that the orrery room is the same room as the pilot room. The ship is big surely there is more than one room in it.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 9:48 AMNo, it's at the center of the ship, where the pilot room is. You can easily tell from the shots where the dome is visible.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.

MemberOvomorphMar-25-2012 12:08 PMno, I think its rather a new ,rendered animation from a production foto..not an original film foto..

I really hope this is not part of the story, it makes no sense. Why would a super intelligent race travel huge distances, create the human race, leave, then go back thousands of years later just to kill what they created, but only after the humans have discovered them by some random chance? Why would they need the humans? Food? If they can make humans, they can easily create whatever they need to survive on their own planet. To transfer their mind? It makes just as much sense as food, they can make what they need on their own planet, why travel so far, why wait thousands of years before going back?
