MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:28 PMHere is a GIF of something running away which appears to be able to bend light, in a very similar way to the Predator camouflage. Ridley did want to do this with the original Alien, but special effects of the time prevented him from doing this.

Here Dickie appears to be fitting, possessed maybe. If you look at her eyes they are almost white. The Ampule, which looks to be thrown towards the crewmember to her left is overlay from a previous scene.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:30 PMLooks to me like video/holographic footage of the space jockey, that we later see lobbing some poor bloke in the Prometheus' launch bay. You can see his long limbs and large head.
And that isn't an amplue being thrown, it's the 3-'fingered' hand of the jockey.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:32 PMonly an idea, could this be a hologram or some sort of defense built into the suits ? With those orbs that were used with the red light coming to scan the ship, its possible this is tech that the marines and ripley did not have access too?

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:33 PMMy opinion on what you see here is one of the crew (presumably David, for some reason) sacrificing himself to the technology of the engineers. Who knows. Good thoughts

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:37 PMThe first GIF is in the trailer just after the flamethrower scene in the vehicle bay and is definately someone running away down a hall way, I can't see it being a hologram. Like I said Ridley wanted to do this with the original Alien.
And the second GIF yes I agree its a hand, but don't think I could be 100% sure its the jockey. But if it is maybe this is where the crewmember raising the weapon shoots the Engineer and thus starts off a chain of events which results in the Engineers wanting to destroy Earth........

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:43 PMMaybe in the first .gif what we see running away is the end result of the red ball that 'scans' the surroundings. Maybe this is replay of what those scanners picked up. Just, maybe.
Dickie/Ford does look a bit fixed or in awe/shock. A huge 'thing' approaching her. My gosh!
I can't wait 'till June!

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 3:00 PMIs it possible that this is a shot from the actual visual view point of either, an SJ, a Xeno-sorta-morph or David ?. Like a wierd echo location type of deal, the Xenomorphs dont have eyes after all.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 3:06 PMThis would be really funny if you watched both gifs in succession while listening to...

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 4:40 PMThe first .gif couldn't be optic camouflage, it's CASTING light in the hallway around it.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 5:01 PMOne of my thoughts for the first image is that one of the crew are being vapourised after running through some sort of 'laser wall' thingy-majig.
My thinking on this is that the ampule room is a trap and when all hell breaks loose these things raise but this poor sod runs straight through one.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 5:18 PMI'm wondering if something happens - a noise made, something taken, movement - that only one of the sensor drones 'notices', but only manages to catch the assailant running away - but this sensor drone activity alerts our crew, who then rewatch the footage in situ, which is what we're seeing.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 5:52 PMThe figure in the first pic looks to have the muscular bulk of the large humanoids we've been seeing. Look at the upper back and gluteal/thigh area. Noone on the crew has that kind of build. Could be distortion squashing proportions, but the figure also looks to have the long "sleeves" and bare, light toned hands of the large humanoids.
If overwhelmed by a large enough force, like, say, a security force with weapons, it's not too difficult to imagine this may be a jockey/engineer fleeing with some kind of visual disruption device activated.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 6:37 PMRemember when in the UK trailer Shaw is looking at the ceiling in the ampule room saying 'its changing'...? I think we are seeing that same effect. Maybe the ship is changing. Maybe someone is running 'into' the ship or atleast into the part of the ship that is 'changing'...

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 7:36 PMAlso, that looks like what we call a "swole man run." Think it's definitely not a crew member, or an un-morphed one at least.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 8:10 PM@ Engineer
I think you are correct. Someone dies, and another crew member goes missing. This is the first clue that it's a crew member up to no good, and it's recorded by the probes.
OR as another theory, this is how the zeno's progenitor "sees".... The aliens don't have visible eyes, but this looks quite a bit like a sonic reflection. There are other "first person POV" shots in the trailer. No reason not to see this one too? Whoever that is has decided that flight is better than fight in this instance and is rolling out, so to speak.
Actually, that's me running from the bathroom to the bedroom for 2 years following the release of this movie. Fear and nightmares give me the uncanny ability to run so fast that I'm outrunning the bathroom light going out... LOL

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 11:30 PMThe red flying balls make a three dimensional map of unexplored areas. In theory this might be achieved by recording whatever their light reflects off of and generating an image from it this is probably what we are seeing as an engineer runs away from it.

MemberFacehuggerMar-26-2012 11:47 PMI am jumping on the imaging from the red balls band wagon. That is the image the little red guy recorded.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 8:28 AMI think Dickie might be the Lambert of Prometheus. (AKA the crew member who does the logical thing and is scared shitless or shits his/her pants.) As for the red globe things, I think they are probes launched by the crew to check out the cave system, and the probes find the "Statue" room. Then all heck breaks loose...

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 4:32 PMI agree with Milos. This definitely looks like someone being vaporized(considering that you hear a scream when this shot is shown in the trailer). And Kate Dickie's character is probably shocked beyond belief at what she just saw. The person running looks pretty human to me.

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 4:55 PMGuys please look at what Ridley wanted to do with the original Alien, he wanted the Alien to be able to do this; act like a chameleon - he had this idea way before it was done in the Predator film. This is the only reason that I think it is one of the crew mutations that has new abilities. Yes it could be a scanner, I agree but I think it is an ability of the mutated crew member - mainly because Ridley wanted to use this in 1979 with the creature.
