I ask because Bladerunner takes place in 2017.
This puts Tyrell Corporation's Replicants out and in the field long before Weyland develops its first David.
Also in Bladerunner most of earth's animals have went extinct and now most pets are synthetic......but this would also contradict Peter Weyland's solving of Global Warming's actual effects.
There are many other broken chains but i wanted to see what everyone thought before taking it further.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 11:12 PMNo it hasn't, a comment made by Lindelof about story aesthitics in an article waaay back was taken way out of context......I wish I could remember which article, but he said something to the affect that 'Prometheus' explored elements that echoed both 'Alien' and 'Bladerunner'...now, I'm paraphrasing....but the way he said it made it sound like the universes of these films were one and the same if you're not paying attention.
Besides, the timelines don't match....'Bladerunner' has Repliucants that already are completely indistinguishable from naturally born humans in 2019 and in the TED talk given by Weyland in 2023, he states quite clearly that synthetic humans indistinguishable from people are not that far away, thus DO NOT exist yet......they can't be the same universe...it doesn't work.....
Also, replicants bleed red blood from systems with synthetic, but still human, organ structures.......Alien franchise androids bleed white blood from synthetic systems with weird fiberoptic/glass ball wiring.......

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 7:51 AMThis is a stretch, but what if Weyland was referring to the Voight-Kampff test...meaning HIS synthetics could pass the test, making them completely undetectable (that is until you cut one open.) :)
