Blade Runner prequel

there are many contraddicting rumors regarding scott's next movie ...my opinion is that it will depend alot about the success of Prometheus megahit = prometheus sequel good hit = bladerunner sequel normal hit = another project he like i cant really see a prometheus flop anyway .

It would be interesting to see deckards former life as the bladerunner, with more explanation about the replicants

Judging from the response to the trailers, PROMETHEUS should open big, $80-120million range is not unattainable. At its worst, it will do TRON LEGACY type of gross: $50 mill opening/$170 million final gross. TRON 2 has superb trailers but very weak plot in the second half. At its best? $250 million, that's about the US gross in current dollar if the original ALIEN opens today. A smart, exotic action science fiction which is rated R, MATRIX RELOADED, did about $300 million in 2003. PROMETHEUS may do that kind of number if the fundamentals (story, action, characters) are strong.

I'm pretty sure that Ridley stated he wanted to make another film in the Blade Runner universe, but that it would be one with no direct connection to the original. A completely original story set in the same setting.

Who else is getting the picture that RS does not like even the concept of a sequel or prequel. There are too many prior plot lines you have to tie up. And die hard fans like us would take him to task over every inconsistency. The prequel formula is very confining, creatively.

@EGR hard to calculate, it depends also on the studio and promotion behind a lucky start for P. Another film with a great history, John Carter, is no great success.. Matrix was big because there were no films like that around 2000 . Tron legacy was great, the soundtrack is great alone.
