Nice!
This confirms what I thought earlier on: The 3 three space jockeys around David were Holograms. David is probably looking up a murder scene.

Great analysis. I thought I had noticed one of the sarcophagi to be open on an earlier screen shot also. But the holes in all but one I had missed. Good call.

ninjacopMarch 27, 2012
hmm i never noticed that the chair chamber is very similar to the pod chamber on the nostromo

ninjacopMarch 27, 2012
and i think those 15 round things are a part of the launching system...i always though the chair was a galactic telescope/firing mechanism to fire the xeno eggs across worlds...

ninjacopMarch 27, 2012
and looking at it in these images, the chamber looks remarkably smaller than the one in alien, in fact really alot small, as in alien they hired children to make it look huge, but in the shots weve seen so far it just looks like a room, maybe there is another room and this is more of a map chamber

Giger's DreamMarch 27, 2012
I was beginning to wonder if there isn't more of direct tie in with the Prometheus myth regarding the chair and perhaps it's some sort of a prison devise designed to hold indefinitely whoever would steel the fire from the gods as the myth goes....I say that b/c it appears to play a central role from what the trailers reveal but now that you pointed out the sarcofigae surrounding it...I don't know what to think...we could drive ourselves crazy trying to figue this stuff out...
clovenbergMarch 27, 2012
Hey
Is there any image of David and 3 space jockeys`? I haven´t seen one so please post it.
I´m new btw and THE fan.
cloven out..

From your analysis could it be proposed that the SJ ship or 'derelict-to-be' could serve the same purpose as the Prometheus? Could they be after whatever 'resource' is on the planet too? I only say this because what you recognize as a sarcophagus could easily be a sleep capsule (like the human version in the Prometheus)?
Could the temples be the source of whatever it is we are both after?

Gem]n[March 27, 2012
@Pete ...
That is a good call ...
Hence why there's a Queen carving on the wall ... they have come to strip this world of its goodies ...
Ok so what about if the SJ's go to different planets collecting resources? ... as in DNA ... hence why there's loads on board the SJ ship ... could the pods hold different DNA from different planets? ... and that chamber (with big face) is a chiller room (ok throwing out my previous theory of possible armory I know) ... just throwing thoughts out ...
God I'm getting to deep into this ... love it ...
scroungerMarch 27, 2012
What if the 'gun' is in fact not used to fire upwards BUT to implant those eggs downwards into the chair!
DAVISMarch 27, 2012
Please try look into some myth story at least four men, four brothers. One corrupted killed another three. We have few (not sure how many) SJs body lying dead on floor. One of them decapitated.
EbugogoMarch 27, 2012
It doesn't really look like Weyland, but he is the most logical choice for who the old man is, showing up with some muscle to claim his treasure.

NCC 1701March 27, 2012
makes sense , in one of the trailers, there is one scene of a crew member running away , and it looks like a Hologram

Gem]n[March 27, 2012
@clovenberg ...
Here is a still I have ...
If they are humanoid that could back up the scene of a holographic humanoid who does a runner ... someone also has that as an Avatar on here ...

As a side note ...
IS David is actually talking to his finger in the scene below? ... or more accurately the Weyland logo embeded on his finger? ...
AND ... Remember he's awake the whole 2yrs while the others are in CryoSleep ... so he probably picks up some weird human traits ... like talking to one's self when no one's else is around ... :) ...

Or he is telling himself that he won't be holding the Weyland logo for long...
Thats a phenomenal observation.

Gem]n[March 28, 2012
@Danrald ...
Like it ... he's had time to think about what he wants to do ...
Think about this too ... Weyland named him David because he reserved that name for his human son, if he was to have one ... so is he saying no Dad i want to go my own way? ... :) ...

It's an English term for a Man really ... as in a 'bloke' ... or someone who knows what's what ... basically a MALE ... ;) ...

It definitely sounds as if he is assuming change in himself. The question is change to what.
A. He desires to be human
B. He desires to be more/better than human
I'd venture a guess that this internal conflict is the fulcrum balancing the third act of the film. It may be that he has to become something different than what he originally hopes, a sacrifice for humanity, which poetically proves his own humanity.
But that's a lot of projected imagination.
What can David become from his small beginning?

Kane77March 29, 2012
it gets clearer now, I think this room is definetley not in the derelict as there could be many other ships like the derelict ..
But I could imagine at the end of P a derelict that shipwreckes on LV-426..
GuestApril 26, 2012
I think something wrong, so wrong, happens to David during the third act because he doesn't appears on any scene during the derelict take off and further crashing of the Prometheus ship against it. I can conclude that something happens to him inside the derelict ship or in Prometheus before taking off. I'm not quite sure if he could mutate into one of the big humanoids in blue suit that we're calling Space Jockeys.
Talking about the Space Jockeys, someone here said that there are three of them because of the holograms and the four sarcofagae (with a fourth SJ beheaded who was found by the crew) so it matches the assumption. But I'd like to point out that in some of the early pictures there's clearly a bunch of corpses gathered on the floor in a corridor against the wall and they look huge, bigger than humans. I'm not talkinga bout the three SJ suits or statues standing close to the gate. My assumption is that those SJ are dead by the humanoid (s) and he (or they in case there are more than one) have taken control of the ship, perhaps sending out the signal for humans to investigate, like a bail to catch them up.

It seems to me that the holes show that something burst out from the inside. This indicates to me that the other 3 Engineers who were in stasis on this craft were likely impregnated as hosts at some point with with xeno embryos (presumably by face-huggers) and died while in their “sarcophagi.” This encourages me to infer that the xeno ‘remains’ that have been spotted here and there in the dark corners of the corridors were killed by Engineers. It seems that both this craft and at least the one SJ from 1979 had very unpleasant encounters with xenos.
The fact that the writing on the urns is NOT the same as the standard Engineer orthography also suggests to me that the xenos may not have originated purely out of an Engineer test tube. It smells of even internal bio-mechanical warfare to me. If the eggs from 1979 are "cargo,” then the xenos (as we know them) may be even partially ‘alien’ to the Engineers.
The holographic animation of the Engineer running could easily be from archive footage of a battle between Engineers and xenos recorded by the automated systems of the craft or the “monument.”
The story becomes even more layered and complex but remains mysterious... :•)
Thank goodness!!

"The fact that the writing on the urns is NOT the same as the standard Engineer orthography also suggests to me that the xenos may not have originated purely out of an Engineer test tube. It smells of even internal bio-mechanical warfare to me."
Then under what motive?
"If the eggs from 1979 are "cargo,” then the xenos (as we know them) may be even partially ‘alien’ to the Engineers."
I think I'm not the only one who'd like it to be a fact.
