MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 3:13 PMI'm sure studio marketing people analyze sites like this, yes.
Directors, I don't think so.
Are you looking for a job? Jk

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 3:31 PMDirectors, not likely. They're far too busy. They may read a few reviews and hear from fans at comicon, but that's probably it. It makes sense if marketing skimmed sites like this. Their job is to sell a film.

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 3:41 PMSuccessful modern marketing involves the internet, that goes without saying of course. The organization in charge of Prometheus publicity is certainly online, here and elsewhere. But who can really say if Ridley Scott or any other director looks online when there are other people dedicated solely to that.

AdminEngineerMar-27-2012 3:53 PMWell, every time we got an exclusive leak of a script, image, information, it took Fox all of 15 - 30 minutes to email us and ask us to take it down. So, I would say they check here very often.

MemberTrilobiteMar-27-2012 3:57 PMI suspect Damon Lindelof does, he has admitted many times that he is a fanboy. Also it is well known that Kevin Smith (Silent Bob and director of movies from the askew-universe) is a frequent forum goer.

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 4:09 PMThat so cool that they emailed you guys when something is leaked. They probably leak it themselfes anyway, but cool nevertheless!
I think the directors are reading some forums. They spend years making a film, constantly doing they´re best at getting it right. Not just for them but also for the audience. I know Michael Bay does it. Peter Jackson also.

AdminEngineerMar-28-2012 12:11 AMA successful business needs to understand their audience. I would be VERY surprised if they don't scan sites like this almost daily. They have divisions of the company specifically designed to scan sites like Prometheus-Movie.com to ensure nothing is being leaked, or posted without permission.
It's not only to see what the fans like, but also necessary to limit the ammount of piracy and other illegal acts being done online all the time. So, it is to both better understand the target audience and also to make sure their hard work isn't going to waste.

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2012 12:13 AMclovenberg,
Lol.. ya there is one or two people on here that I have suspected to doing that...
BugHunter,
I've been curious about how many emails you get from Fox.. lol. Fox also has a company called Mark Monitor, that does some kind of brand protection. One other thing, I don't know what you are doing, but I've seen it.. As soon as I post something on this site, I can query my post on Google immediately.. Good job!
