yes it was the empire article and sorry it was lindoff that said the quote........but scott that said the last 8 mins were a link to Alien.

He already months ago that last 8 minutes of Prometheus will be a direct link to Alien DNA. But I don't know which sens of "DNA" he means.... Creature's? Ambiance? I can feel a dramatic end. Loud classical opera music to fit perfectly with the birth of a brand new kind of species, but incredibly familiar for us. Shiver guys!!

Ridley indeed used the term DNA months ago, He chooses his words carefully for the public and in that case and others, he has dismissed including the Alien in this film, what he was referring to without specifying it was the SJ and its world and civilization, those concept elements. The last 8 minutes.....meet the SJs.....sort of, in a way, Ridleys way and all the careful language he uses disguises specifics

Didn't that leaked script end with basically a direct link to alien? I wonder if that thing could be more correct than we initially thought.

My question is will the "encore" be "Prometheus 2"?

It will be easy to see how MULTIPLE threads can continue in differing paths, with one path heading towards the "Alien" franchise, but with many other heading to who knows where. I just hope Ridley stays "into it" enough and doesn't get fat and lazy like George Lucas, who could have done so much more. There is so much depth in Ridley's Pro/Alien Universe that we need to explore....

End of the Day if the end of the Film did have or show how the Alien came to be, Ridley is not going to want to give away much as it will spoil the Movies Plot. Various times with simular questions he brushes them aside, pointing to we should just wait and watch the Movie than ask about every part of it.

The mention that we'll see "DNA from the film Alien" does not mean we'll see an Alien at all. For all we know, it could be 8 minutes surrounding a member of the Nostromo crew when they were a kid. Yes, that idea is implausible, but you get my drift--there's not a scant hint of an Alien there, but it still constitutes "Alien (the film) DNA".

He's said many, many times that this is not an Alien prequel. That doesn't mean it is not a part of a larger story that contains Alien, it just means it doesn't link directly to Alien. I think it's pretty clear that a Pro sequel would likely be an Alien prequel. I can't blame him. I wouldn't want to come back into a genre after 20 years just to add directly onto a movie you already made.
