What the movie seems to say about mankind's potential in relation to the SJs

We are following in the footsteps of our masters - the space jockeys. We are becoming like gods, cloning, making humanoids, and creating organic life in our labs. Eventually we reach a point where we feel it's time to turn the machine off, when these acquired powers have become too powerful for our own good, kind of like with our weapons technology (nuclear weapons).
The space jockeys perhaps are suffering (or had suffered) from the same dilemma. In their case, it appears they chose to embrace their and have come to accept the unethical consequences because the benefits outweigh those consequences in their minds, kind of how we allow animal experimentation, cloning, stem cell research, etc. to continue even while we have a feeling of wariness, torn by the ethical sensibilities, or concern over what it could lead to. Perhaps this movie serves as a warning to us of how power corrupts and the burden of responsibility and tough choices that come with our technology.
Then again, maybe this is just horse crap and I'm just looking too deep into it. Hey, but you can't say it doesn't make a good discussion topic.
Had to think of something to keep us busy while we wait for the film's release. We still have like 2 months to kill, lol.
Anyway, any thoughts?
