Dont know if someone mentioned it before, i do apologize in advance.
The ancients all had created the exact same images. We are led to believe these are maps , signalling the heavens. Maybe they were warning. Maybe the ancients were trying to warn us of a place in the galaxy never to go near. Like Chernobyl on a map for example. This could open up all possibilities.
For example. The large head may not be anything more than a target room. As in meaning it is a room which weapons are stored in for certain targets. so this room was full of urns with a Large Human head, like a store room for these biological weapons.
I am starting to go away from the GOD theory because why would they create us to then destroy us because we could rival them. I have a baby girl, i love her, if she grows up to become a rocket scientist or an Olympic athlete, i will sure not destroy her. We produce to better ourselves and become stronger.
Anyway back on topic. Prometheus stole fire from the gods. Well the gods in this are the jockeys, they are more advanced evident ally so it is just a metaphor i think and we steal weapons from them for our own benefit. however maybe there is a Jockey who sides with us because he is against his own race and their beliefs to destroy all life in the galaxy , to purify it. History is full of these characters on our planet so i am sure alien races will be no different. He is a defector the jockey we see. I know there are plot holes so don't get sarcastic in pointing them out. But i am starting to think the signs are a warning to us and not a map.
the ancients must have known or some into deadly contact with the jockeys before and want to warn humans for the future, so they created these paintings, but we interpret them as maps, understandably of course.
What do you all think, am i crazy or is this a plausible theory.
As in another post in this forum , it doesn't make sense to create us, not welcome us but detroy us. that is just screwed up. But maybe they are just screwed up.
Who knows.

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 8:27 AMI think misinterpreting warnings as invitations is plausible, sure...
It's pretty amazing we have a movie of this magnitude, 2 months from its release, and no one is really even sure of the plot! People can still keep secrets, apparently!
Part of the fun of a movie like this is all of the conjecture beforehand. We all need to enjoy every second, as I doubt there'll be another movie like this in a LOONG time, because even if they do a P.2, we'll sort of know the themes based on this one...

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 8:39 AMExactly, i have never known or heard of a movie as secret and curious as this. i hope it delivers, i know it will.

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 9:02 AMRS and LindeH saying they use ancient astronauts as a base, and also stating that nasa claims we can't be where we are without a little help doesnt
sound to me we were created, but visited in the past and. while visiting they either tought us stuff or experimented with our DNA, or they had fun with human women creating advanced primates: us?
thinking out loud

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 9:09 AMI totally understand where you are coming from. I love watching ancient aliens. But here this theory. There are two alien races advanced etc.... One created us basically and did not want to leave a trace as part of their expansion but left these cave painting and images and told the ancients to stay away from this sector of space as their enemy comes from there and will do anything to destroy what they have created, thin of the aliens in Dreamcatcher for example, two races at war with each other. well we read it wrong and decided it was an invite, so we arrive , they follow our trail to get to earth to destroy it. i know it is crazy, just thinking as i am going. Isn't this just great but frustrating at the same time.

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 9:55 AMIt's interesting, but I never understand how characters such as Shaw and Holloway buy into this idea that because they find a few ancient drawings, it means they need to take a trip to find the source. If an invitation is sent in the form of a 'friendship' message and humankind is encouraged to come and visit, then maybe it might be worth the trip. Otherwise, stay away from the past!!

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 10:15 AMOne thing all those ancient civilizations mentioned in the trailer have in common are human sacrifices to their god(s), right?

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 10:39 AMLets try this. It is all a trap. The five temples we see are like labs. the jockeys are like scientists. They did not create us but have lured us quite clever by treating the ancients well and giving them destination points for this planet in Prometheus. So all these other alien species like us arrive here thinking they are going to be welcomed but in fact captured and treated like lab rats on. the jockeys goal, to create a perfect weapon to conquer the whole universe, and they might just have succeeded with us arriving, and splicing us with some other alien DNA of some unfortunate guests from another world.
So the whole thing is a trap basically, what do you think?

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 10:57 AM...and having failed to get us on their planet, a dying SJ makes a last ditch effort to carry out his plans, by sending out a distress signal in hopes that it may be picked up by human ears. Why let good eggs go to waste?
