Ridley Scott and the internet forums

That being said, this is by far NOT Ridley Scott's first rodeo. They know how to keep things secret if they want to. One of the cast, who insisted on reading the script before negotiating, had to sit and read it while a guard stood closely by, after it had arrived via private courier on a Private Jet.
In the original Alien, The morning that they filmed Kane's now-iconic chest-bursting scene, the only information the actors present were told that day, when preparing for the scene, was "The thing emerges." None of them(except Mr. Hurt, of course) knew it was going to burst from his chest. That is why the revulsion, terror and other visceral reactions by the actors were so genuine. RS knows how to get the most out of his actors, AND his fans, when he needs to.
