MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 2:43 PMIt's obvious the engineers were on earth millions of years ago, any thoughts on the race's continued presence in secret, particularly within Weyland Corp.? Peter's parents were geniuses and elites in their own right, notably his mother having a degree in Comparative Mythology. Common themes that run through all myths of creation will be at the heart of the SJ's presence and purpose.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 5:48 PMI think it was in an older interview where it mentions Scott might use some of the ideas from Chariots of the Gods. They either created us or influenced us as we advanced. A lot of the ancient civilizations were better astronomers than we are.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 9:44 PMI think they're Atlanteans, and we were wrong about where they came from. They were just an offshoot group of hominids who were "evolved" and got their highly advanced technology from the true Gods of the Zeta II Reticuli system, and tried to show us/warn us where they got the high technology that ultimately led to their destruction through its misuse. Many traces of their technology went on to give the priest classes of our earliest civilizations an edge, but they didn't understand anything until the God Kings of Egypt reemerged and led them for a brief while until they died. Legends exist of the Atlanteans not being mermaids, but creating mermaids and other hybrids. Many members of this highly advanced ancient race escaped the sinking of Atlantis/ the flood and moved onto other worlds to attempt to steal the fire from the true gods who gave them their superior tech and "evolved" them. Some members of the race were still alive on Earth and posed as human kings, leaving traces of their influence in archaeology/mythology. Plato makes an off the collar reference to there being a belief about a central pyramid on the central island of the mythological (even for the Greeks of the time) island empire of Atlantis.
Many ancient cultures wrote about a tall, pale highly advanced human race that was once present on Earth. An island nation that disappeared into the ocean. Comparative mythology tells us the legends of these people from many ancient cultures with multiple names spring from one source(or for the purposes of this film actually happened), where they're given the names the Rama, the biblical Raphaem, and "those who dwell in the water". The far east has more names for them, but in most versions there are two separate warring factions that destroyed themselves and much of ancient India if you believe the legends... the Lemurians have different characteristics and lived on floating islands above the pacific populated by flying Snake Men who were said to be the original pilots of the ancient flying machines spoken of in the Indian "Vedas".
Marvel comics does an OK job of translating the Atlantis vs Lemuria stuff. The Gods/ demi-gods of Indian mythology and Greek mythology are both associated with the Atlanteans instead of the Lemurians, with the latter having a very close association with Atlantis. Many Atlantean figureheads in the myths are part Titan part something else. The sinking of Atlantis, or Paradise, happens as a consequence of the Titanomachy in some forms of the myth, the war of the gods against the Titans in the Greek myths. Prometheus creates the next round of humanity because we got annihilated too in this overthrowing of the true gods and because Zeus is the new ruler and tells him to. The Olympian Gods were born and overthrow the Titans with the assistance of the Atlanteans and the help of one other traitor. This happens during the third round of creation in the Greek myths. Even though Prometheus is a Titan/Lemurian he is forced to work for the Olympians to help create the next rounds of humanity..
Their kingdom was destroyed by the gods and sank in a day in some forms of the myths, or in the Greek version where we get the name Atlanteans it trends towards the "they destroyed and sank themselves due to misuse of their technology version of the story."
Now where does this leave ancient aliens? They were the ancient aliens. That's the twist I think this is getting at, all the myths are true. The worldwide flood/polar shift that some archaeologists believe happened multiple times, happened a few times due to the past transgressions of the Atlanteans, who have since moved off world to challenge their creators after the attempted destruction of their civilization. The Atlanteans were misusing their biomechanical based tech, but were so powerful at this point they could almost destroy their creators. Only, they needed to keep their masters genetics alive, as it's the basis for their tech and golike status. So these "gods" employ him as a master engineer, keeping him in stasis... When we find them they've already stripped their creators of their power, whereas the Atlanteans who were left on earth and founded Egypt/Sumer were still in awe of how their civilization had just been wiped out by their creators, the Titans.
Now only one Titan (or very few) remains as per the myths, the Prometheus character who steals the true source from these gods and attempts to give it to the humanish character in an act of rebellion against the pale blue skinned gods of Ancient India and Atlantis who now enslave him and threaten this crew of other past creations. He knows that one of their past creations is misusing the power given to them and wants vengeance for the death of the last members of his species, maybe the decapitated one was his brother Epimetheus who created the pandora's box of genetic weapons for the "gods" lol. Ridley has said this movie is about "Gods and Engineers", he's never indicated directly that they're the same thing...
The titans were the engineers of life and planets, the Atlanteans/the olympian gods/ the blue skinned gods of India all steal or inherit their power from the Titans/true gods/Lemurians. In my view (for this film) they were the Annunaki of ancient alien theories too and they were actually from Atlantis, a break away group of hominids who were favored by the gods, which explains why they made contact with all these ancient civilizations after the last ice age.
The Atlantic ocean equator region would have been the most habitable zone around 15 000-10 500 BC when the last ice age was ending. The true gods set up the first humanoid civilization here when the planet began to be habitable. They didn't cause the flood directly, as the continental ice shelves receded; they just didn't save the Atlanteans from it as punishment for their transgressions and misuse of power. They returned again to hit them with cataclysm after cataclysm as they tried to lead us, their younger brothers, and reemerged on the Earth as the early God kings and demi gods. When the Atlanteans turn their bioweapons on their creators in space after being forced to the habitable regions/mountain tops of Earth (Olympus), their creators attempt to fight fire with fire, but the war takes a toll on them. They create a new breed of biowarfare that keeps planets in check, but are still brought to near extinction.
Something to ponder in regards to comparative mythology and the theory that there's two classes of space jockey, all these ancient tales of tall human aliens come from civilizations that have multiple classes of gods at war. In the case of Anu, he's depicted as quite different from his sons Enki and Enlil.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 9:29 AMMala'kak, sounds like a wonderful world from the annals of fan-fiction. I like YOUR story, and I thank you for your feedback. As far as this being the answer to 'Prometheus?' I certainly hope not.
