What if the seemingly ominous character of Vickers is present on the mission with a secret agenda. A mission to have sex with and get pregnant by a transformed DAVID, after he is bestowed with the gift of life that is present somewhere on that planet. Hence she would serve as a 'first woman' giving birth to a true cross-breed between organic life and our own super-advanced technology.
The impregnation of Shaw happens by chance, with an already infected Holloway, and the conflict arises as to what Vickers plans to do with her 'baby' and what Shaw, bound by her Christian faith, wants to do with HER BABY.
Or maybe not. Just a thought.
Another thought. There has been a lot of speculation of the total number of sarcophagi laying on the ground, all with holes punched in them except for one. In the original myth, Prometheus had three brothers...
OK I'll stop now.

It's cool when, as film viewers we can engage in discussions about a film that makes us wonder about our beginnings and ultimately our end. So, don't feel bad about your opinions. Everybody has something interesting and worthwhile to contribute to this forum.

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 11:40 AMI dont actually think there will be Xenos anymore. Itll go off somewhere else like Sir Ridley keeps reminding everyone. Sure they say there will be familiar things but i think thats only as far as the ship and Space Jockey.
I now firmly believe that there is no misdirection from the cast and co.
Shame because id love to see where the Xenos really came from more than the Space Jockey. Especially now that the space jockey is only a bloody space suit.
I really hoped that the SJ was a creature as depicted in Alien. Sad now lol.

MemberDeaconMar-30-2012 8:25 PMi think how the Space Jockey is a being in the suit is interesting.
As far as Vickers goes well who knows if she is even Human, maybe her and David could go on to make the Borg lol.
Thats the thing with this movie there is so much to speculate on, when we think we roughly sussed it out along comes another view and we sit back and think ummmmm! Good point.
Only things we can tell so far is this movie has Space Jockeys, Derelict Ship/s and some kinds of Organisms.
And one of the crew is not Human but its hinted that David may not be the only one.
