@Biomechanic: thanx man. DAMN...i wish i new 3D programs, i spent a decent amount of coin on a bundle pack of Autodesk Maya8 a few years back, thought i could teach myself the program the way i did with the Adobe apps i now know but NOPE, Maya was far too complex a program to self teach, the program is just gathering dust in my room (sucks) what did you use to build that cool looking model? even better looking now that you added some details...

Haha I used Maya it is my favorite. Blender can do it too but I wouldn't recommend it. For me it would take 100 x longer because their conventions feel backward to me. Get a 3D mouse like the spacenavigator, bush that Maya off and go through a few of the tutorials it will eventually click. The real trick is to get good at shortcuts and tricks so it doesn't take all day to make something.

I think the only bad thing about any of these is that the thing on the back end isn't a dome lol it's a roter :)Besides that great work :D

Yeah like that :) but the ring it sits in would be more ball like or thicker then the one in that pic or your model.

i dont mind talking it over on here, yeah i cant see my sent messages either :/ well anyways, that's great so far :) can you make the hole a little wider? i feel that the opening is too small for it to keep the back end up, and is it possible to make the blades overlap each other? that way if you looked straight in it, you could not see through.

I think you're right zim about removing it completely. I do think it will look funny. Aesthetically it needs that stator but I think I can make it much thinner and increase the size of the hole like you want. I'll see what I can do. @spartacus I seriously thought it was cloth. I zoomed on the image and the texture looked cloth like. I thought maybe it was some kind of patchwork.
