Original SJ Xeno impregnation = eagle eating Prometheus' liver?

I feel like this is so obvious it has surely been discussed before, so I apologize if it has, but I was watching the Wondercon interview with Ridley and Damon yesterday and I've been thinking about the question towards the end where the guy mentions Lucifer enlightening man and asks how this story relates to religion. This morning I realized that having an xeno burst out of your chest, like the SJ in the chair Alien experienced is pretty similar to having your liver pecked out by an eagle, and with all the references the ancient alien theory, a rogue SJ visiting earth and bestowing technology, speeding up evolution, or meddling in some other "forbidden" way and being punished with impregnation seems a pretty perfect fit. I also think it would be pretty brilliant to build the xenos into the SJ's culture for thousands or millions of years via a punishment for those that disobey norms. Then again, it really does look like he was headed somehwere with a shipment of eggs and Ridley specifically mentions the questions of where he was going with that "cargo" in an interview. So, it doesn't quite explain everything. Thoughts?

Well i think the Prometheus Myth/Story could have a lot to do with what this movie is about. He created Mankind from Clay and gave it life from himself. He then also Stole Fire from the Gods to give to Man. He was punished for this. In the Waterfall scene if you view it in real slow motion you can see that a Blue Guy/Space Jockey seems to have some kind of afliction or disease is this the punishment that he has to endure for the creation of Mankind? I also think that the Prometheus Myth plays not only a role for the Space Jockey in the creation of Mankind. But also with mankind well the Crew of Prometheus also being Prometheus in that they by acident create another kind of lifeform from messing about and trying to steal another peice of forbiden Technology of the Gods. Thus maybe the Stroy will tell of how Space Jockeys created Man, but maybe its Man who creates the Xeno from Alien?

I think it's likely that the film will not be a strict retelling of the Prometheus myth, but an explanation of how the myth came to be. That is, ancient humans interacting with godlike aliens did their best to describe events and retold the story for thousands of years until it was written down by the Greeks. Where the film deviates from the myth is where we'll find Shaw and the other characters coming to horrible realizations about the true nature of the Prometheus figure and those who imprisoned/punished him.

I do think that the xenomorph impregnation stuff will be a pretty direct analogue of the eagle & liver situation. I wonder if any of the characters will be assuming the roles of Heracles or Pandora? Heracles slaying the eagle and releasing Prometheus from his torment seems very similar to what is going on in these trailers.
