has anyone talked about what the big tentacle smacking the door in front of shaw might be? wondering if its her baby after growing at a super rate or the tail of something else?

The unseen has been in my mind since I heard about this. There's still something bigger and nastier and horribler than we've seen yet to come! :-D

The unseen, just a guess... is meant to scare the diehard fans. I'll speak for us all, I want to be frightened! I WANT to be afraid to see it again! Wouldn't that be awesome!? I assume we are all adults here, and know what to expect. Giger's awesome alien design! Wouldn't it just be grand to be scared again from a film?! I can't remember the last one that did it! Can you? Oh, wait... I lost sleep when I saw the Human Centipede. Never again will I see that garbage. That's just trash. I want smart, thought provoking science fiction! The unseen is something to hope for, to desire.

If Giger designed the new unseen alien we will not be dissapointed and scared to death! I want a hardcore nearly NC-17 rating for this movie!!

nice silica! im hoping whatever the tentacle thing is, is going to be something original looking. when they take the squid baby out it looks human colored to me, the tentacle looks a bit blue-grey like the blue guys skin.

I made a point in the other thread, that if you were Ridley Scott and you had access to some of the best film designers, a 150 million budget, and H.R. Giger, are you going to settle for a big blue guy and some squid things as the monsters for your supposedly epic and harrowing film? I'm expecting something major that we haven't seen yet.

I wonder if her "baby" starts up havoc at another part of the movie. Wondering if she's acquired by the company when this happens or if she's still on the Prometheus....I think the latter...

@belladonna, you're right about that discrepancy in color. Not sure tadpole=big tail=blue guy, just yet. Then again, we've seen colors change in post-production - the proto-face-hugger went from being translucent to almost crude oil dark...

And the ship crashing has changed quite dramatically since the teaser trailer too. I like the new look, personally.

I think there's gonna be more species ... I reckon 7+ ... 5 (from the 5 silos that we know of), the Engineer(s) and then us humans ... then ... more from the mutations ... it's gonna get nasty ...

I thought Giger had no input into this movie?

Maybe several species but I think they are all Xenomorph variants! I have this weired feeling that the xenos are an animal version of the Jockeys!
