MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 2:15 AM1. If the ship gets blown/ damaged in Prometheus then how come the ship is snugly sitting in ALIEN and Dallas & the team enter it?
2. If the ship is blown off like we see it rolling after Shaw and she's running ahead of it how come the eggs survive?
3. Isn't the impact big enough in Prometheus for something to get destroyed inside?

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 2:24 AMThe urns......that i believe do turn into the eggs because they have been waiting for the correct DNA strands to turn them into eggs are actually super glued to the floor.
The ship may fit snuggly because perhaps the planet suffers from major hurricaines which would continually alter the landscape.
Actually.....if David can be infected and hes fully synthetic because its bio mechanoid technology within the ship........then its plausible that the urns can change to organic eggs.....which i was i said months ago. Im sure its no coincidence that the urns are in the same pattern as the egss in Alien.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 2:28 AMok but again 1 more qtn ... in ALIEN the ship is shown whole like the pic ... now hows that possible cause in Prometheus one part of the ship is on "FIRE" .. so technically ALIEN should show a part of the ship destroyed ...

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 2:38 AMNot if the ship is capable of self repair due to its bio mechanical nature........ theres also no impact damage from the Prometheus or the ground

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 2:42 AMThe more i read the more i think that Alien or grandpaAlien, is really only a small thing in this huge story

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:04 AMI don't buy it's the same ship or the fact it can repair itself ... if it could repair itself then why is it still on LV-426 ... so why not do a proper job and sort the engines out and get off that planet? ...

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:07 AMBecause of something i just thought of.......see my new thread "NEW THEORY" that im about to type.....bear with me, this might take a while.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:07 AMfrom what i could see after watching / re-watching all the PROMETHEUS
teasers / trailers, the Enginner's craft seems to be EXTREMELY TOUGH
not only appearing to keep it's overall hull integrity,
but made a M A S S I V E divot in the ground it hits, not to mention the rolls
it seems to be doing as both Vickers and Shaw run for there lives as its rolling
hard in their direction
i think the ship finally lands as it would if it were to have not been rammed
at least, that is what i can deduce from all the imagery i've seen so far
i was once told, that the structure of nature us far stronger / superior than
something that is man-made, or in this case, Engineered (pun intended)

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:21 AMwho knows if it is the same ship but i doubt a race would make only one ship... for all we know there could be hundreds or even thousands of those crash landed on planets and moons all over the universe.
thats like aliens coming to earth and seeing that we only have ONE car or ONE boat on the entire planet, of course we made tons more then that and i assume the jockies did also.
im not saying it isnt the same ship, but just pointing out that there could be many more ships that had different circumstances.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:35 AMMind you......weve seen footage of the ship hitting the ground on its side.....the tip hits first....not its arse end....then it rolls around onto its arse end. If i was Vickers i would run at a 90 degree angle to the ship.....not away directly in its path like in the cartoons lol.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 3:44 AMi know, that's logic, but seems in real life, when ppl panic in a situation they often do the oposite of what would be logic hence shaw's reaction is human :p

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 4:51 AMI think its a huge stretch to assume its the same planet. When the LV426 settlers arrived they must have done a survey to see where the best place was to settle.
Its one thing missing a ship but also missing 5 huge pyramids that the Prometheus crew had no trouble spotting from space is a bit to much of a leap in faith.
I am also sure that I read an early interview with RS who said that the Prometheus crew WILL NOT meet the SJ from the Alien ship

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 6:45 AMtheres another thread about this ship and NOT beeing the derelict..its looking different.
so, maybe not LV-426, too..

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 7:48 AMYes.. If you look into the actual shape of the Derelict vessel in ALIEN and what the ship in Prometheus looks like... there are CLEAR differances in the shape. And I dont mean that the front of the booms were reversed or anything like that but there are big differences in the shape at the back end and on the boom sides.
The Derelict in Alien is clearly a more direct interpretation of Gigers female shape in his print "Hieroglyphics", but the vessel in Prometheus is much more symmetrical on the rear and sides almost like its a horseshoe.
Whether this is simply the Prometheus art-directors simple asthetic choice is another question?

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 10:58 AMOOOOKKAYYY! Here I go again! (Some of you may have it heard before!)
It's not LV-426 because Ridley Scott and the writers of the movie have stated time and time again that this is NOT AN ALIEN PREQUEL!
This, to me, means that at the end of the movie you will not see the start of the original film. You might see the why and how, but not not anything specific.
Ridley Scott will will not give up his intregrity to play this sort of game.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 11:01 AMI think from the new trailer it is clear that the ship is there first and all is fine, then "prolly"... that race gets infected...we hear them say in the trailer..."what it's doing"? "Leaving"... "Leaving to go where"?..."Earth" !!!
I think 33+ years ago during these events of Prometheus it tried to leave LV-426 and head to earth but was stopped and then crashed back on LV-426 and sat there until the events of Alien.

Spartacus
MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 11:03 AMand I do not think it was an accident I think it was stopped from leaving and forced to crash back on LV-426 and I think it is crystal clear now that that planetoid HAS TO BE LV-426 no matter how anyone thinks it looks.

MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 11:14 AMWhat I don't understand is why people are excluding that the planet is LV-426 by the looks of it.
Of course if I take a picture of the Sahara Desert and a picture of the Himalaya those locations cannot be on the same planet, because they are so different.
We are talking about a planet, not a town square! The crash site might be different from the one we see in Alien. Then again, the derelict can have an accident somewhere else (its pilot being particularly inept!).
And the atmosphere being different is not particularly relevant, as hadley's Hope managed to change it in 20 years, and so could the Engineers in a shorter time, I guess.
I don't know if that's LV-426 or not, but deifinitely cannot exclude that just because of the looks of it.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.
