DAVIDS INFECTION

MemberOvomorphApril 05, 20121226 Views18 RepliesTheres a lot of talk about David being infected and thus becoming blue man.
Are androids completely synthetic or do they have organic parts?
If no organic parts i wonder how the infection would spread through his body.
Unless ive been right all along and the Space Jockey ship is indeed bio mechanical.

I've seen nothing to indicate David is ever infected with anything, or that he mutates into something else. There's evidence of at least three crew members doing it, but the idea of David somehow becoming a living creature that "evolves" the ability to reproduce just won't go away. I've said it before on several threads- I believe he is an android from the beginning until his end, and nothing more. This was the absolute WORST aspect of the fan-made storyline that surfaced several months ago as a "leaked script", and though the person who made it up has come forward and said it was a fake, it just won't go away. Bioformer, skeletal monsters having orgies, and David being the beginning of mankind. Bicentennial Man was arrogant and naive at the same time (aside from just plain silly), and so is this idea.
If David physically changes in any way because of a biological contaminate or infection, and is indeed ANY part of the Alien's ancestry, then that would be completely silly IMO. Such a thing would imply David somehow passes on genetic material to his "offspring". Pardon the BSG remark, but toasters don't reproduce.
The human characters in the film are just "meat for the beast", that are used up and discarded, but the robot is reborn into a living creature capable of rapid widespread reproduction with any living host. Instincts, drive to survive and procreate and feed? That's a stretch of the imagination that is just a bit much, and I hope RS has got a better story than that. If not, this will be the biggest disappointment imaginable.

No one knows much about the android biology it seems. I really would love an answer to this too, because they are my fave part of Alien movies.
Here is a link, this site has a lot of info on Androids:Androids of the Alien universe

The reason i say what i do is because.....its highly plausible that if a synthetic can be infected by a bio....or bio mechanoid virus or worm and become blue meanie.
Then surley the synthetic or solid material urns can also catch this virus or whatever and thus transform into eggs.
Is it just coincidence that the eggs in Alien are pretty damn close in layout as the urns in Prometheus?
I just thought.......the ceiling in the dumdum head room changes doesnt it? Perhaps this is the virus spreading throught the ship and turning the ship organic which would explain why the ship in Alien has bone structures within it....but not in Prometheus.
Theres a pile of what looks like organic matter in one of the tunnels that everyone believes is a pile of dead SP`s.......what if its a by product of an infected ship trying to create organic matter?
What if the ship is already infected when Prometheus turns up and our presence simply kicks the virus into action?
The ship could be in quarentine of some kind on the planet. Perhaps blue meanie by the waterfall has caught the virus, dropped HIMSELF on an inhabitable planet and programmed the ship to quarretine ITSELF.
But then we turn up and as usual all hell breaks loose.....bloody humans lol.
What if blue meanie ISNT so mean after all and is actually trying to save the universe.

id love to know what the droids are made of, all they have told it seems is what the insides were REALLY made from behind the scenes.

Yeah, me too Bella, I would really like to know more about the androids. How they process info, function, etc. etc.

He does seem to like to touch every freakin' thing he sees so im sure it would be pretty easy to get infected with something.
im guessing the droids have to be somewhat organic, the white fluid they have seems a lot like their version of blood. i dont see why something purely mechanical would need that much fluid in it. at least something more like gun oil to lubricate its insides, not white goopey stuff.
im pretty sure if i use milk instead of oil in my car it isnt going to work... LOL

That is Holloway in that scene, I can't find a good pic, but I've seen clear image of his name on yellow cap.

@mark ... I dunno about David being infected at all to be honest ... ;) ...
@Svanya/bella ... I posted this same response to Svanya in another thread ...
That's deffo Holoway ... take a look at:
Prometheus - Official IMAX Trailer 2 1.12 min [720 HD]
Same scene more frames ... you can just make out HOLOWAY on his name badge ... ;) ...

The urns seem to me like cryogenic containment units used to store/preserve samples - of what remains to be seen. In the trailer we see David take something out from one of them.
You don't have to watch this trailer to realise the alien virus/dna strand can adapt to and thrive on non-organic materials and cause them to change. Just watch other films in the franchise (Aliens, anyone?). Besides, David doesn't have to be able to reproduce, he's an 'artificial person' after all. All he needs to do his carry the infection inside him and pass it along to others.

I haven't read any leaked anything and don't intend on it ( Has anyone here read the leaked stuff?? Just wondering).
@progeny: TY for the pic! If his helmet says Holloway then it's him.
@Bella; I know right! I does looks like Fassbender... I thought I was going nuts when I noticed the teeth!
@reffugee; Ok ty very much! If his helmet says Holloway then it's him. I am looking up Logan Marshall-Green pics as we speak. LOL!
@Gem]n[; Yes! I read your post, it was very interesting.

He is the first taste of Human DNA for the species we come to know as you know what...IMO of course.

Ok i have frame by framed that scene and the person has a stubble, which when you see the last few letters of a name as "way"
Makes me think its Hollaway, also compared the Bald Guys ears at the begining of the movie and they are also not Michael Fassbenders Ears.

@BigDave; Yup, I was only wondering about the pic because of the seemingly matching teeth. I trust it's Holloway now, everyone tyvm for the pics.
@Belladonna; Found a link for Android physiology. It's the only one I have found so far. :D

Big Dave, I'm not sure which version of that scene you have but in the newer one's you can clearly see a creepy-looking eye reflected off of the glass on mutating guy's helmet - maybe even a face? I don't have the ability to look at it frame by frame, I just happened to pause it at the right time, I couldn't catch it again though, it's only for a split second.
